I have taken part in and won a Twitter competition, which gave us a family day out at the Leicester Space Centre. With the amount of people now using the service, there have been an increasing amount of awareness campaigns, which if posted by enough people make the ... more

Premium Review Twitter.com: Tweeting happily away (513 words)

I know a lot of people who can't understand the point of social networking sites at all, let alone one which only allows you 140 characters to answer the question "What's Happening?", and also allows you to follow countless other people and read their 140 character contributions. Well, I've been tweeting (the act of posting your answer) and following for several months now, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I think the critical thing is WHO you follow - I already had a number of online friends who have Twitter accounts, so there was an instant initial 'follow' list. Over time I have found a number of bands to follow, of course Stephen Fry, and various charities, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tweet Tweet Tweet (314 words)

I'm surprised that it has taken me so long to even think about writing a review on twitter on here. I probably should start by saying I'm fairly addicted to twitter, sending a fair few on a daily basis. But let me go back a little bit. Twitter is a social network that allows users to update their followers in answer to the question "What are you doing?" in just 140 characters (the length of a standard text message). A simple way to think about it is that a tweet is roughly the equivalent to a facebook status update. Twitter has been in the news a lot over the last year as it becomes much more main stream than it ever was. It is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twitter.com: Twit's Tweeting on Twitter (291 words)

Twitter is a simple little online tool that started recently and soon became a bit of a craze. Twitter has rapidly developed an excellent reputation and has generated a high capacity of users. This leaves the website sometimes giving you the message 'Tweets are over-capacity, please try again later' wich can be a little annoying, especially when you've got something to say. 'Tweets', which is what the site is primarily based on, are simple little updates that you can post just to let other people know what you are doing. Basically it's just a status updates and people can choose to follow you and you can choose to follow them. Twitter have also recently ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twitter On (222 words)

I am completely addicted to twitter. Whenever I am on my laptop (daily) I will have twitter open and constantly refresh when I get alerted of a new tweet. I only follow my friends, as opposed to random people and companies. You can access twitter through phone apps, text and the web. Personally I access it through the web and rarely through text and never through phone apps. I find it a quick way to communicate with loads of people, if you want to go out for a meal, rather than sending one text to everyone (my phone has a 4 person limit) you can just tweet it and everyone will read it, as all my friends are equally if not more addicted to twitter than myself. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twitter.com: An indirect rival to Facebook (203 words)

Twitter is frankly a completely pointless exercise. You update your status with what you are doing or have recently done, and unless you have a large group of followers, it will seem like no one cares. This is Twitter's beauty however. Knowing that your thoughts are floating around out there, just waiting to be replied to, trying to be interesting enough to gain enough followers. It can be an addictive exercise. I even managed to get a tweet from Mike Skinner and Keisha Buchanan You leave your status, wait to see if you recieve any @replies, where people leave a status that replies to what you have said, or you can send direct messages privately to one user. ...  Read the complete review
