Advantages: Get in touch with friends and see what they're up to
Disadvantages: Boring
Recently I have read about twitter everywhere. It seems to be in some celeb article in all magazines, it's everywhere on the internet and everyone seems to be talking about it. So when I realised my partner had put it on my iPhone I decided that it was worth signing up to it.
So for a couple of weeks now I have been twittering and adding a couple of people to 'follow' which makes me sound like a stalker and to be honest this is the feeling I get from the whole site.
Ok so I have my own friends on it as well as following some celebs. I decided to add Ashton Kutcher as he is known to be using twitter non stop and I felt to get the right idea from it I'd be best to follow someone that has the know how of the site. But to be honest there's not much to work out about the site as it is very easy to use.
Within days I notcied random people had started following me. I have only posted a tweet twice but seem to have many people following me which is a bit freaky as I haven't said anything!
Your profile - I don't think it's anywhere near as good as facebook or bebo. You only get to upload a profile photo but you don't get a complete profile page where you can personalise completely. It is just basically for writing about yourself and what you are up to at that specific part of the day. Or to read what others are up to.
To be really honest I'm not won over by this at all. I'm get bored of social networking sites and only now visit them when someone has left a comment. I find with Twitter I actually forget about it and have probably only signed on half a dozen times if that in the past couple of weeks.
If you decide you want to sign up then the website is - www.twitter.com
The registration process is simple and only asks you for a minimum amount of information which makes it very quick to do so you can start searching for people straight away.
Summary: So bored of it - not recommended

- 08/07/09 I think I'm with you on this. I Tweet my Facebook status changes but that's about it. |

- 19/06/09 I've only just started using it again and I've found the random followers are people spamming, usually advertising a website or something - very annoying! |

- 17/06/09 Not tried Twitter yet and probably won't. I got bored of Facebook and cancelled my account. Thanks for the review!! |
