UBoot is an easy to use, free service which includes not only SMS (free!!) but chat services, and email to phone services (so you can send emails to phones, for free!). UBoot works with any UK mobile, not just newer internet enabled phones so you'd needn't worry if you don't have too recent a phone.

All you need to do to take advantage of this service is register on the site with a few details and away you go, technically, you don't even need a mobile phone yourself, which has got to be another big plus point for those people out there who aren't "mobile". All your messages will be sent anonymously, which is kind of open to abuse, just remember to put your name at the end of your message so people know who you are!

The chat is kind of fun, there's usually lots of people on it which is a plus point and it's usually quite light hearted (if a little childish) and fun.

Another of the community features of UBoot is that everyone has a nick page, which is where they can tell other UBoot users about themselves (kinda like a mini homepage on the net, much like your very own profile page on dooyoo infact) and people can leave messages for you - quite a nice touch, (something which dooyoo might want to consider maybe?) and also send you SMS's and emails direct from your page. They (the nick pages) tend to be a little bit, err, "racey" to say the least though!!

The only major down point I can think of about this site is that at times it can be *very* slow indeed and pages often fail to load. This said, it is fairly rare and at most times is very quick and messages are sent very quickly indeed. There a
re no daily limits to the number of messages you can send and the design is easy to use. Plus, in general, text messages are usually sent very quickly, which isn't always the case with other free SMS services which can take ages to deliver messages to their recipients.

All in all, a very good, FREE service which is a godsend in these days where text messages are sent so frequently, try it out!
