As a recent 'virgin' to chatrooms, I thought I would try some gentle conversation with people my age. Before I knew it, I was being asked for private conversations. Being new, I just accepted and chatted to these strangers. It wasn't long before I was being asked things that I didn't understand, like 'cyber'. There's some grim old noises out there... very offputting. i'm sorry, it seems a good idea, people with microphones can actually, TALK in a chatroom! Great, you think. But it doesn't work, anyone who has witnessed these strange sound chatrooms will agree. 1 - No-one uses their mics to talk, or if they do, it is very rare, 2 - They use the microphones to make sounds, like "Whoooooooooooo!" or "Raaaaa!" 3 - The one word used most is always "Hello?" 4 - There's always someone who thinks it's really great to just play a section of a song through his mic.
