Advantages: Comedy value?

Disadvantages: Just annoying

There's some grim old noises out there... very offputting. i'm sorry, it seems a good idea, people with microphones can actually, TALK in a chatroom! Great, you think. But it doesn't work, anyone who has witnessed these strange sound chatrooms will agree.

1 - No-one uses their mics to talk, or if they do, it is very rare,

2 - They use the microphones to make sounds, like "Whoooooooooooo!" or "Raaaaa!"

3 - The one word used most is always "Hello?"

4 - There's always someone who thinks it's really great to just play a section of a song through his mic. Which gets very tedious after the first time you've heard it. And when no-one responds, they do it again. And again. AND AGAIN!

i admit, once a private room is established, things can get better, but that's not the end of it.

The whole thing feels kind of disjointed, even more unnatural than typing. The crackly voices sound dodgy in the extreme, not exactly friendly.

Maybe in the future this will work, but not just yet.
