Advantages: Product comparison site

Disadvantages: Fewer products, difficult rating system, poor payment for writting reviews

Recently I've seen a lot of people on Dooyoo are also members of Ciao, so having read the terms and conditions of both sites I decided nothing would be lost by copying some of my older Dooyoo reviews over there.

I'm already regretting it. The site is very hard to navigate, and there is no renumeration for just posting a review, you only get money for rates. This starts at 0.5p per rate, and rises to1p per rate, then 2p per rate. I spent over 3 hours rating others reviews, and did over 100 reads, comments and rates, and in return I got....8p.

Now I do enjoy sharing my opinion on products and appreciate the feedback given by others, and I think Dooyoo is a great forum, and I regularly check here for products now before buying anything, but Ciao is just impossible! I can not make the search facility turn up relevant results, the new reviews list is pretty well hidden, and worst of all there seems to be no way to tell who has rated my reviews, so I can't reciprocate and have a look at theirs.

In addition I have no idea how to add a product. I just can't find an option. The result of this is the catalogue is a lot smaller than that at Dooyoo, so I would still check Dooyoo as well as Ciao anyway.

The reviews are more thorough though, with little scales to rate important features of the product. This provides useful 'at a glance' information on price, quality, durability and so on. These sliding scales are specific to the category.

Overall I'm definitely sticking to Dooyoo, Ciao is too much like an uphill battle, Dooyoo is superior both as a place to rate products, and gain opinions on a product or place I am looking to try.

Summary: Dooyoo is the only one for me.
