Advantages: Get paid for writing, The community feel

Disadvantages: Don't pay as well as Dooyoo

Ciao, like Dooyoo, is a consumer website where you are paid to write and read opinions. It was launched in 2000, so is still very new, but growing every day.

They pay you 10p per opinion, and 2p for every time someone reads it. Not so much as our beloved Dooyoo, but you can still make a few quid if you work hard.

They automatically give you 50p in your account for registering. The catagories are more or less the same as what they are here, but Dooyoo does by far, have a much larger range of products and services to comment on like Speakers Corner and food and drink. Something which Ciao lacks.

The category differences are only a small part which differs the 2 sites. Trusting people is another thing. With Dooyoo, you can trust as many people as you wish, but with Ciao you are limited to trusting only 50 people. Although there is no limit on how many people can trust you.

Here, there is a crowning system, where you are paid £1 (and also recognised) for writing good opinions. With Ciao, they have the Premium Fund, which is paid out on a monthly basis. The Premium Fund can be up to £2000, and paid out accordingly to members who write excellent opinions. But these are not recognised, and the Ciaoer is unaware of who these people are. You will notice in your account if and when you receive any money from the fund. (I have received £2 to date!!).

On the homepage, you will see the latest opinion, and you can also view the last 20 op's posted. Here, there is the 'Hall of Fame'. With Ciao, a few of the members are selected each month and are pictured on the homepage. If you are one of the selection, you will be paid £10 for the pleasure of being on show to all. There is more than one member chosen each month, and therefore, you will see, and get to know the face, of each member throughout the month. The 'Ciao's Most Wanted' members change each time you visit the homepage, but the group is c
hanged to a new lot on a monthly basis.

Onto their payment system. I do find Ciao much easier to see how much I have actually earnt, as they do tell you in monetry terms how much you have earnt. This is updated on a daily basis. Any earnings you wish to request must be over £10, and this will be paid straight into your bank account on a monthly basis. But you must request payment by the end of each month.

There is also a community centre. Here you will find news with the Ciao team have posted, the 10 most recent new members. Also view the top 50 people with most reads, products with most reads etc.

I like Ciao, and it's great to be a part of a growing community. I also feel the same about Dooyoo. I feel, though, with Ciao, there is more of a community feel though. Maybe this is because there is less members? I don't know, but whatever the reason, it's nice to be part of it.
