Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use

Disadvantages: Poor support, Reliability?

I used UKReg back in March to register a domain. I chose them because they seemed to get quite a lot of praise here at Dooyoo, and they were extremely cheap. The onlky other company that I could find that even came close to them in cost was 123 Registry- and there seemed to be rather a lot of complaints about them on Dooyoo.

COST-----------------------------------------
.co.uk domains are only £2.95 per year, and that includes fowarding to your webspace eg. I host a site on my free AOL webspace, and then have UK Reg fowarding www.mydomain.co.uk; to members.aol.com/mydomain/index.html .

The price also includes 50 email address fowardings eg. all mail to as2101@mydomian.co.uk can go to as2101@yahoo.co.uk, or whatever.

You also get 10 forwarding aliases- for example
music.mydomain.co.uk can go to
members.aol.com/mydomain/music/index.html

and
telly.mydomian.co.uk
to members.aol.com/mydomain/telly/index.html

It's very simple to do, and sounds far more complex than it is!

SERVICE--------------------------------------

Signup was very easy, you just follow the instructions, wait for the domain to be registered and then fill in the details of what you want your domain to do, eg. fowarding etc.

Support is only via email, which is a bit of a pain- but emails do get answered- and I suppose they can afford call centres at their prices!

Their website is fast and easy to use.

RELIABILITY----------------------------------

Since March, my website has been down for at least 24 hours- which isn't a great record, as it
can prevent search engines from indexing your site! Therefore, I wouldn't rate them highly for reliability, but at least they told me when they were down (although they purely blamed BT). I don't suppose any company offers 100% reliability.
