Advantages: Free tabs, info on guitars and music, looks good

Disadvantages: Tabs aren't always correct.

When it comes to getting guitar tabs free online, Ultimate Guitar is the place to be. Ultimate Guitar is, as the name suggests, about everything to do with guitars! As well as guitar tabs, on the website there is also music reviews, music news and interviews (as well as other things). Predominantly though, I, and I'm sure many others, use the guitar tablatures section of the website.

The website is easy to use to find the tab you want: you just use the "search for" bar to search for the name of the song or artist. Then, it shows you a list of the tablatures posted on the site with that name, plus the rating other users has given it (which helps you to find the most accurate tab) and the type of tab (for example, bass tab). Once you have found the song you were looking for, you click on the yellow song name and the tab comes up. Simple!

If you want to print the tab, click "print this tab" at the bottom of the page, and the tab then shows up in black and white with no borders/banners etc, meaning it fits on the page properly and conserves ink and the environment.

The websites appearance is good: the background is generally black, meaning whatever is on the page you are looking at contrasts with it. The ultimate-guitar.com banner/logo is blue, white and yellow, which also contrasts well with the black and looks, for want of a better word, cool. There is also not too much advertising, which is good as we all know it can be a pain!

The slight downside of using a free website like this one for tabs is they are not always accurate, as they are published on there by members of the public like us. However, this is also good as it lets us correct and learn from each other.

To conclude, unless you want to spend money on professional tabs, Ultimate Guitar is a great website to search for the desired tabs, plus to read up on everything guitar!
