If you do own a motherboard based on a Via chipset, then this is the number one website for information, latest news and reviews of all the latest products. If you don't know anything about the company, here's a little detail. They are based in Taiwan and are the number one producer of motherboard chipsets, both for Intel and AMD processors. In fact when AMD first launched the Athlon and Duron processors, VIA were the only manufacturer to produce a chipset in sufficient numbers for the chips to be the success they have. It offers benchmarks showing the different speeds of all things from processors to graphic cards to software to motherboards and a whole lot more. It has a very simple layout with the newest stories at the top of the page and then as you scroll down you can go through the previous days news etc. I would not say this site was packed with info as it only deal with a few issues, if you want to delve right in to the hardware and get more benchmarks and more testing then some of the other hardware ... VIAhardware.com may seem a little one sided, as if just covering as the name suggests, VIA hardware. Although this is the case in general, there are a number of other companies covered and also VIA does have a hand in most markets now. The site is packed with motherboard reviews and news with VIA shipping more motherboard chipsets than any other company, this gives a wide range of reviews on SS7, S370, Slot A, Slot 1 and Socket A. The processor market is reported on at this site now that VIA has bought Cyrix processors and with the new VIACyrix III soon to be released this coverage will be increased. Also VIA now has a stake in S3/Diamond Multimedia so reviews on ... Read the complete review
