Newest Review: ... now have a limit of 600 a month which seems like quite a lot but I feel that virginstudent.com has a better deal and is easier to use. I am transferring to another uni at the end of this year and I can chat to people on this site that go to the uni at the moment and get information and ask questions. The chat facility is excellently set out where you can choose people that are doing the same sort of course as you or are at the same uni. Oh and finally there is a free email service but I find that the hotmail one is better. ... more

A friend of mine introduced me to virginstudent.com for which I am grateful to her. First things first, being a student and short of money the free unlimited sms messages are a god send. I used to use genie but they now have a limit of 600 a month which seems like quite a lot but I feel that virginstudent.com has a better deal and is easier to use. Premium Review I'm a Virgin (332 words)

Virginstudent.com has to be on top of the list when it comes to Students visiting websites. In my opinion, apart from anything else, the free sms service is the best around and whenever I use the net I send free text messages to keep in contact with my friends.I'm a skingey student and free messages save me masses of money and unlike the NUS website there is no limit to the amount of texts you can send. Apart from free sms the site also includes free e-mail which is very easy to use, and compared to hotmail you are able to store much more mail as each member gets a alrge amount of space. If this is not enough however you also get free disk space to store ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review virginstudent.com: at last a decent email service designed for students (350 words)

This is one of the many free email accounts available on the net. But this has a difference; it is designed (very well) for us students. It has all we have ever wanted. Every body knows about the email, it is the same as the other million free accounts available, but this site also allot more. Firstly it has free text messaging. This service is a in a class of it’s own. It allows you to take no’s from your address book on the account, unlike on Lycos, also you don’t have to go through all the disclaimers when sending a message. This service also allows you to store messages and send them to other people with out having to rewrite it out. It has a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not Bad, But Could Do More (141 words)

Virgin is one of those brands that our generation has grown up with, so what a good idea for them to enter the student market. Virgin Student is quite a good site, with a whole bunch of largely useless or just quirky distractions. Text messaging is the only really good thing, but when you think how long it will take you to get to the site and write the text, you might consider just paying the 5p it costs to send it from you phone. Discounts look good in theory, but there are not enough of them to make a difference. The 10% discount at Virgin Megastores, will just about bring the price of their CDs down to normal levels. For the prospective ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review virginstudent.com: Are you a virgin? (743 words)

VirginStudent wasn’t high on my list of websites to visit, but I got bullied into it. It was part of a deal with a ski holiday I was going on. If we registered with the website then we would get a free T-shirt when we went on the holiday. Being the typical student, I saw the word ‘free’, my eyes lit up and I registered. I have to saw that I am really quite impressed with the site and it has proved to be very useful and entertaining for me. The site itself is like an e-zine. It has regular articles on various topics (at the moment Louis Theroux is writing about vomit) and useful information for students about making money, spending ...  Read the complete review
