Advantages: Easy, lucrative, Payment is quick, Very professional set up
Disadvantages: You might not get a survey for a few weeks
Yes it’s true! The last survey I did for Visitor Friendly took me an hour at most, but I earned £14 for my trouble. Not bad? You can say that again! Visitorfriendly.com is one of the major online mystery shopping sites, which requires you visit and use various websites and then fill in a detailed online questionnaire describing your experiences. This enables a company to test customer appeal, service and quality, competitiveness etc. ~~~~~ In order to become a mystery shopper here you sign up as a ‘visitor’ and after registration you are then chosen to receive information about particular websites they would like you to visit and test out. When you get assigned a survey, you log into visitorfriendly.com at a URL which is sent to you via email. You are then required to open the survey in one window and surf on to the site in the other. I usually print each survey out before starting, just to get a feel of the questions. Not every survey is the same and sometimes you have to take things to the checkout in your shopping cart, but mostly you are only required to visit each part of a site and give your opinion. ~~~~~ On their site, you are informed that surveys take approximately 15 minutes to complete and for each one you receive £2.00. However, many of the surveys I have done with them have paid more than this. One was about £8.50 and the last on was £14. This was a five-site survey, where I had to visit the websites of 5 high street banks, give descriptions of my experiences and compare them. I found this survey very enjoyable and I learned a lot myself, as to which bank’s site I preferred and which would have got my custom, if I wasn’t already settled at my regular bank, (which was, as a matter of interest the website I liked best). ~~~~~ Sometimes you get a couple of surveys a week here, sometimes you don’t get any for a while. Visitor Friendly only send surveys out to those
that meet a certain demographic profile, for each project, so it’s pot luck really. ~~~~~ There are two major advantages about this site; 1; By referring other people to become mystery shoppers you can earn more money. For every £2 survey someone completes who was referred by you, you also get 25p, and there’s no limit to the number of people you can refer. 2; You can access your account details online at any time, so you can check how much you have earned and therefore what your account balance is. Very useful for checking if everything is in order. Not that I have ever had a problem with them. ~~~~~ I have found them to be very quick with payment, which at present is sent in the form of a cheque. You are paid at the end of the month if your account is over £20. I have found that on average, I have made around £25 every two months, however with this last £14 survey it will be more than this next time. ~~~~~ When you sign up to be a visitor, your application is processed within 24 hours, and at the moment, only UK residents can apply. Visitor Friendly state that they will not sell, rent or give away any identifiable personal information about you to any third party. Neither will you get unwanted postal or electronic mail. However they do “reserve the right to supply visitor details to companies who are paying for our service.” Useful to know. ~~~~~ Visitors are required from all walks of life; from all sectors of society and from a diverse range of occupational backgrounds, from professionals to foreign language speakers from teenagers to silver surfers. (Silver surfers - don’t you just love that expression?) It is easy money really, although as I say, sometimes you might go for a few weeks without getting any surveys assigned. I have been quite happy with Visitor Friendly anyway. I signed up last year, along with eMysteryshopper.com and althou
gh you won’t become rich by participating, for a few minutes’ or hours’ work the total soon adds up. Ideally you need to combine mystery shopping with other online money-making opportunities. ~~~~~ I have only had need to speak to them on the telephone once and they were very courteous, helpful and they returned a call quickly. Emails get answered speedily too, so no worries about emails never getting answered. All in all they appear to be very professional and I would definitelt recommend them to anyone looking to earn a bit extra online.

- 12/10/01 I applied a while back and heard nothing, then I sent them an e-mail and they got straight back to me with one to do, only a £2 one, Im guessing that happened because I questioned them or they wanted to see if I was any good, what do you think. Good op. Julie |

- 22/08/01 I really really keep meaning to do this. It seems so much less 'Mickey Mouse' than many of the schemes out there. |
