Advantages: pays out, good pay rate for internet scheme

Disadvantages: takes a long time to do, infrequent reviews

£20

This is how much money I've received from Visitor Friendly after nearly a year of membership. It doesn't sound a lot, but after a year of trying various internet money making schemes this is the most money that I've held in my grubby little hands.

Visitor Friendly (www.visitor friendly.com) is a company that gives organisations feedback on the usability and visitor friendliness of their websites. They are able to do this by paying internet users to evaluate websites.

The homepage on their website is quite confusing when you first log onto it, because a lot of the information is for the benefit of companies who may want Visitor Friendly's services. The information that the average dooyer will be looking for is on the left and half way down the home page under the heading visitor information. This will provide you with information about how you can make money, a link to join up and access to your account details once you've joined.

Signing up is easy to do. You have to be a UK resident to join. Once you've joined invitations to review websites will be sent out via e-mail. The invitation you are sent includes link to the relevant websites along with a questionnaire to complete. I usually print the questionnaire out fill in the answers on paper and then fill in the online version. Two of the reviews I've done have involved 5 websites and it's impossible to switch between websites, links to the next website and the questionnaire.

The invitations give an estimated time it will take to complete the review. In my opinion these times are optimistic. One of my 90 minute reviews took me twice this time.

The questionnaires are lengthy, detailed multiple choice questions asking you to rate aspects of the website such as attractiveness of layout, ease in ordering brochures and how current information is. At the end of the questionnaire they ask you to fully rate and describe the good an
d bad aspects of the site.

There are questions put in to check that you were actually looking at the site and not making up a load of old cobblers. They ask you how many clicks it takes to get from A to B and they ask you to copy URLs. The three reviews I've done have been about banking sites, so I haven't found them wildly interesting to do.

Their website says that each review takes approximately 15 minutes. They pay £2 for each review. So if it takes you as long to do a review as they say you could earn £8 for an hours work. If you refer people you'll get 25p for each review that person completes.

They pay you every month your account has over £20 in it. All reviews are checked before any money is sent out. If you fill in the optional bank details section found in your personal details they can pay this straight into your bank account. Otherwise a cheque incurs a £1 admin fee.

I can't hazard a guess to frequency of reviews. I've received 3 to do since joining nearly a year ago. I suppose it depends on demand and who companies are looking for to review their sites. Well thats about if for Visitor Friendly, it?s something that pays out which is good, but its tedious to do which is bad.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who had some big surveys then nothing. Unfortunately I have £12 in my account that I can't access coz it's below the payout limit. I much prefer emysteryshopper!

I was impressed with the £25 I made for about 4-5 hours I reckon (over 2-3 reviews) but that's all I've had in almost a year too.
