Advantages: Free SMS, Email, Text Alerts

Disadvantages: Some only for vodafone but not all.

There are numerous free SMS sites now available online but not all have so much to offer as well as these as vizzavi does, this is a site jam packed with everything you could want from a mobile site. The site is really mainly for vodafone users but most features are available to any other, for example my phones BT and I can use their services barring a few.

Before you can use these services you need to complete the registration, a simple procedure, requiring the usual, name, email and selected username.
Once you have completed this you will then be given vizzavi email address to use on site, plus your own personal calendar and address book, plus access to chat and bulletin boards as well as being able to use the free Sms service.

~ ~Email ~ ~

The email account is just your standard web based mail but the difference here is that you can have up to 5 accounts and you can get your email by phone!

To do this all you need to do is register your email account with the online registration, then phone the number you are given either from your home phone or mobile, you then select which of your email accounts you want to hear and your new emails are read out to you, or you can set up your wap phone to receive your vizzavi emails for you.
Standard tariffs apply of course so if you have a lot of emails then it could be pricey!, but good if you are away from home and need to check your mail.

~ ~ Internet Access~ ~

Vizzavi now offer you their own ISP for anyone who fancies trying it, this one is £12.99 a month for unlimited access, and at the moment if you pay for 2 months you get one free.
But you can also pay month by month if you are worried about taking the risk.
Payment options here are credit card, debit card and direct debit, so a plan for everyone here.


~ ~ Text Messages~ ~

Vizzavi lets you send up to 10 free SMS messages a day, this site seems to be one of
the more reliable ones as I have used various others..AOL included and found that they either never arrive or arrive hours later, these seem to be instant or at the most 10 to 15 minutes on a bad day.

~ ~ Alerts~ ~

These are currently only available to vodafone users, however it does state that they are expanding the service to others.
The alerts available at present are :
Weather
Horoscopes
Email notification
Plus more on specific pages for other categories

These cost between 12p-24p and you can set whether you want them daily or not, I used to get the lottery results when I used vodafone, but often they never arrived or came in the next day, so wasn't much use really.

~ ~Chat~ ~

On site there are various chat rooms to cater for allsorts of interests, these I have never used so I'm afraid I cant tell you whether they are any good or not.

Lots to keep you occupied here, online games galore from chess to wordox to casino and arcade, all available to play onsite.

If you fancy something different you can even play games on your mobile , again lots to choose from but also dependable on the model of mobile you have.
These range from your own cyber pet to football and casino games and are compatible with any phone operator.

If your phone cannot receive these you can always try the SMS quizzes instead from soaps to sports.

~ ~Ring tones and Logos~ ~

Available on site for the cost of a phone call, these are all the up date tunes but they will set you back around £1.50 or more each.
No Freebies here I'm afraid.

An Excellent section with all the latest TV news, soap watch, film reviews and the complete listings for all TV and Satellite channels, no need to buy another magazine ever again.

Each of these sections also has its relevant links to SMS alerts available and mobile games.

As well as these there are sections for Technology, Finance, and Horoscopes, a very comprehensive list indeed.

Vizzavi is a huge site, excellent to navigate and use even for a beginner, its jam-packed full of features for your mobile and all the other current topics of information you could want.
As you can see the SMS facility is just the tip of the ice burg, there is so much more to do and see on site.
