Advantages: You use a search engine anyway so getting paid/ winning prizes is a nice bonus.

Disadvantages: Not as good as Google.

Like most people I like to be rewarded for things that I would do anyway, so winning prizes or being paid to use my search engine seemed like a great idea to me.

Wabbadabba is a search engine like yahoo/ google/ Ask etc. that offers the user the chance to win prizes (usually £5/ £10 Amazon vouchers). As well as this, the user is entered into prize draws for electronic items such as ipods. If the user invites friends to join the site, they have an even greater chance of winning.

Well I joined Wabbadabba, I even got a friend to join, and in five weeks we won exactly nothing. Though I'm sure that many people do win on this site. However, I prefer more of a 'dead cert' as they say and so I tried Mysearch. This is a similar idea but instead of the possibility of prizes you are guaranteed a payment for each search.

When I first used the search engine it was attached to Ask.com and it wasn't very good. Later the site was attached to Google and it improved dramatically. Now the site has had a complete overhaul; it is attached to yahoo and offers a lot more to its users than before.

'homepages friends' (as it is now known) is a UK based company which works by collecting revenue from the sponsored links in any searches you carry out. All search engines are the same, but this is the only company so far to split the profit with the user 50/50.

The user earns around 2.23p per search, which sounds small, but you'd be using a search engine anyway and the money soon mounts up.

I have had no problems with this site whatsoever and my money is steadily growing. When the site was being updated and renamed they kept the users informed by email of exactly what was happening.

The site have an enormous number of members, many of whom have had payouts so there seems to be no problem there. (You can claim a payout when you reach £20).

As well as the earnings, the user can now enjoy various additions to their home page - there are many to choose from including daily waxing and waning of the moon info, games, stock portfolio, world clock, currency converter, daily jokes, pictures, screen savers etc.

I have so far managed 242 searches and have earned £5.00. I'm perfectly happy with this since I didn't win anything with wabbadabba and with this site I am guaranteed to earn something.

If you recommend a friend to join the site, you can earn an extra 10% (this comes from the site, not from your friend!)

So for all those who regularly use a search engine, why not sign up to one of these sites. If you are an infrequent user then sign up to wabbadabba and try your luck. If you are a regular search engine user then sign up to homepages friends and start building up your earnings.

There is no fee to pay for either of these sites, though in fairness neither are quite as good as google; but if you're going to search anyway you may as well get something back.

Here is the referral link for homepage friends, I've never posted a link before so I hope it works and thanks to all those who sign up.

Happy searching.

Summary: Since most of us use search engines regularly we may as well get paid for it.

I think this is more a review of myhpf and not wabbadabba? You say you got nothing from wabbadabba but rated it 5 out of 5 and then proceed to talk about myhpf, I am confused.
