I was so pleased when I heard that the BBC was going to be doing a series devoted to dinosaurs. I have always been into dinosaur's. When I reached the age of about 7 I had literally hundreds of books about them! I went through a phase of wanting to become a paleantologist, then I went onto the wanting to be a Vet - and ive stayed there ever since. However now im doing my A-levels, and getting into Vet school is getting more and more impossible by the day, I may end up becoming a paleantologist after all! As for the Walking With Dinosaur's website: On the main page you have: "Todays choice" "Big Al game" ... Read the complete review

Did you like Jurassic Park? This programme is made almost to the quality of a top blockbuster film. The special effects are simply superb and the programme format is very well done. You actually get to see how we think that dinosaurs lived and is rather like a wildlife documentary rather than a computer generated film. The computer generated creatures are a wonder to behold and the whole series of programmes hold you spell bound from start to finish. It is almost unbelievable that this type of film can be made and you almost think that what you are seeing is real. The series is a must for all the family but may be a little too scary for the younger viewer. ... Read the complete review

My son loved Walking with Dinosaurs. We have taken him to the Natural History Museum and he now has the whole series on video. He is only just under four but loves them and anything to do with them. So when he saw this he was thrilled. I had a real job getting him off it. I had to navigate for him as he is still too young. But I was even hooked on it. I think it is a must for anyone. Not boring and stuffy at all. ... Read the complete review

In my opinion this could have been the documentary of all time! The graphics were outstanding and sometimes you would have to remind yourself that these creatures were not real. However, the most annoying thing about this series is where in some close-up scenes, animatronic puppets were used which spoiled the realism of the programme and upset the shear greatness of the effects. To accompany the visuals, the music and sound effects were well thought out and almost 100% of the time it would really affect you as in atmospheric contribution. The older generation will watch this as a documentary but the younger will see it as a good movie. I really reconmend this to ... Read the complete review

Yes, I enjoyed "Walking with dinosaurs". I have always been a dinosaur buff. At the age of 7, after having read in my first book that life evolved form some primordial mud, I went out to get some mud and tried to breed my own dinosaurs in my parents' living room. Well, it didn't work, so it is fascinating to see dinosaurs come alive at least virtually in this fascinatiing BBC programme. The style is unusual for a dinosaur programme: rather than showing bones and researchers, the programme pretends to be a classic animal documentary in the "Animals of the Serengeti"-style: The dinosaurs are shown eating, fighting, travelling, mating in ...
