After 4 months, no specs and no refund, my credit card company are now on the case.
I don't know if their glasses are any good or not as I never received mine. However their customer service is rubbish. They only occasionally reply to your emails. [the latest is that they are having system problems]. Six months later and still no refund. No real address to send a letter to [no replies to those either] and no telephone contact. Buyer beware.
I'll give all the details : like that it willl be impossible to remove that real review !!!

No customer service and complete lack of communication regarding my order. They do not have any items in stock! They just take the money. 4 months later and I am still waiting for my order.
I am not the sort to leave negative comments without justification, although I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking of using them to avoid at all costs!

I would like to make people aware that I ordered a pair of glasses from this company over 3 months ago and have yet to receive either the glasses or a refund despite receiving numerous e-mails saying that a refund would be issued as it was going to take them 6 weeks to get the frames. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Cancelled my order within 10 minutes of placing it (read reviews of company after placing it and thought OMG) after the 6th email -I eventually got a standard email asking if I wanted to cancel (no name-no tel no just a generic email) My money was taken the following morning and I have been trying to get a refund since.
I have since done a lot of research on this so called company and it is quite unbelievable what I have discovered. All addresses used (including ones for many other companies that wantglasses director is involved in do not exist-one did in fact exist and is a flat above a shop and they have received tons of mail from loads of different companies and has contacted the police as it was so suspicious).
I am in the midst of further investigations.......WATCH THIS SPACE

I recently had the misfortune of using wantglasses.co.uk. After my purchase I found that there are threads and reviews of this company ripping people off for over 3 years now. I just can't understand how they're still allowed to trade and continually do the same thing over and over again. It seems multiple victims have complained to business watchdogs and the Police (as have I) and still it continues unfettered.
From my research and experience:
They will charge you for items they know they don't have and can't obtain within a reasonable amount of time.
You will give this company your money, they will give you nothing, they will keep your money.
They have no real address, only a PO Box.
They have no phone number which they can be contacted on.
They will continually try and stall you from taking external action to get your money back (making up excuse after excuse for delays).
They will soon stop answering all your emails even those as simple as "do you have any intention of giving me my money back?". This happened after two replies in my case.
The items which they failed to supply to you will still be present on their website so someone else can go through your entire ordeal again.
They have been discovered faking positive reviews of their company on websites and blogs criticising their service.
I ordered my glasses on 20th December and was charged for them immediately. I was told on 4th January that they couldn't be obtained but that the lenses were ready and I could order a cheap frame which would be sent out same day. I asked for my money back on the same day. I was told that it would be up to 14 working days for a refund due to 'bank clearing times' (I've never known a refund to a credit card to take any more than 3 days). After 16 working days they replied to my i-have-no-refund-email informing me that someone from accounts would get in touch with me and let me know why my refund hadn't been processed. No-one from accounts ever contacted me and every follow up email was ignored by staff. This is exactly the same story that you'll find in many of the forum comments and reviews online. I only got my money back in February after relentlessly pursuing a chargeback through my credit card company.
This company has consistently taken money from customers for products it doesn't have and continually failed to give customers their refund. The products that it has supplied have frequently been faulty (according to reports I've read from those that have received something). It's so disappointing that we live in a country where this can happen for this length of time and still they're allowed to trade and incessantly do the same thing over and over again. I don't understand why this is treated differently from simple theft. I'm self-employed and they wasted so much of my time and therefore money. I'm disgusted.
I have received exactly the same message - the frames I selected are now on back order from the manufacturers in Italy and may take another 2 -4 weeks to arrive. Of course I only found this out after my 3rd chasing email.I anticipate a struggle to get my money back ...
I ordered a pair of prescription glasses. After a couple of days I received an email saying that they don't have the those frames available and it would take over 4 weeks extra to order them from Italy.
I asked them to cancel my order. Then I got an email saying that I can have 10 % off my order if I chose different frames.
I told no and asked for a full refund on my payment on the credit card. They replied that I could have any frames for free but I still refused and asked for the third time to cancel my order and pay a full refund.
The last mail was from over 3 weeks ago saying that they have cancelled the order and paid a full refund.
However I have not yet received the refund.
I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. Although they have replied quickly to my emails, I would think that returning the customers money as soon as possible should be a priority. That's just plain common sense not to mention standard customer service in any eligble online shop.
I foolishly used this company too. I saw the glasses I wanted on their web site, ordered a pair, paid, then got an email telling me they were no longer being produced. After 2 1/2 months and many requests, I finally got my money back, but only after my bank interveened. I have also reported them to trading standards. I my opinion they are rogues - do not use!!! Like many others I wish I had done "due dilligence" on this company.
Ok, I was stupid enough not to read the reviews about Wantglasses. I ordered a pair of Pierre Cardin Specs on June 30th 2010. I was so excited as I had been searching for this frame for a long time....So disappointing to be told the frame was no longer made, 6 weeks after my order! ..and now the accounts team can't seem to understand how to send my refund back via 1st class recorded delivery. ...Well, I have now sent all info and correspondence to Watch dog, I've been in touch with Trading Standards and my bank.....If I don't get my money back, that's too bad, but we need to get these people OFF the internet.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I waited over a month for 2 pairs of standard glasses, only for 1 pair to be out of stock. The pair that have arrived are of terrible quality - the frames are all misshapen. i will be returning them for a refund, but I hold out little hope of getting one. PLEASE SHOP ELSEWHERE TO AVOID HEARTACHE AND BLINDNESS!

STAY AWAY, DON'T BUY, DON'T EVEN TRY TO CONTACT THEM. I have now waited over 2 months for glasses. Every email I send gets me an email back that is curt and almost rude. Their customer care policy is a joke. They are frustrating, unprofessional and the worst retailer I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. If you value your stress levels, STAY WELL AWAY FROM THEM. I wish I had found this feedback before I ordered. Funny they don't have a comments section on their website, HMMMMM wonder why.

I ordered sungalsses from them and didn't have so much as a confirmation e mail! When i e mailed to asked the status of my order, I had a reply that said they were out of stock with supplier and would I like to wait or be refunded? I asked for a full refund which they emaild back to say had been processed, that was 17th May... still don't have my money!!! They are not a trustworthy company and after reading all the reviews (which I wish i'd read before!), I'm not even sure if they are a genuine company!
I have sent them a stinking email today demanding my refund.. You can't contact them via phone as you get cut off after 1 ring....
Get your glasses/sunglasses elsewhere, from a reputable company who actually give a toss about their customers!!!
I have also just noticed that they are on Twitter, saying how fabulous they are.... DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE, THEY'RE SHOCKING!!!!!
