“ Sunglasses online „
I ordered three pairs of sunglasses in June 2010. Straight away (and you'll see a trend in all the reviews), they sent me an email saying that they're out of stock and the glasses are being shipped from Italy. When I contacted them about 3 weeks later, they said the order was cancelled due to suspected fraud. Key point - it was a direct debit payment so they had my money AND the "sunglasses". From there on I had absolutely NO response from them. Phoning the company number, it's answered by a machine and if selecting an option, you get cut off. I even sent a snail mail letter, but the address is in the middle of nowhere - check it out with Google Streetview! I had to report the crime on the web and fill out some forms for HSBC, and I eventually did get my money back from HSBC.
So, absolutely do not use this company, I can't believe that after a year the website is still on the internet without police or anyone getting rid of it... And they keep updating it! (Fraud is a profitable business!)
Same story, ordered raybans, took money immediately. No raybans turned up. Several emails, vague response and no refund. Finally got my money back via the VISA chargeback process. They should be locked up for theft...
Same old story.....
Ordered in July and money taken from my card immediately. Nothing arrived in the advertised two days so chased and was subsequently informed they were out of stock but a delivery was expected. After a a few more weeks and no communication from Want Sunglasses I decided to cancel the order and received confirmation of the cancellation in August with a pledge that the money would be refunded. It's now the end of November and believe me I've e-mailed again and again - NOTHING ! Credit card company now on the case on my behalf. They take your money, fail to deliver, do not communicate and fail to refund when promised. Dreadful experience. Would suggest anyone thinking of using this phony company justs reads all these reviews and understands you are likely to be taken for a ride. About time Mrs Robinson at Watchdog got on the case.
I ordered a pair os Oakley sunglasses that were advertised as in stock and at a competitive price. The £92.00 was taken from my credit card straightaway. After a couple of weeks I was told there was a delay in supplying them as they needed to be sent from Italy. I was told they would be sent within the 28 days from the date of ordering. After another three weeks I was told they were not available and I would be refunded the money. After another month nothing so I sent them numerous e-mails but they were ignored apart from an automated reply. I had to contact Barclaycard and the got my money returned after filling in forms and printing off all the e-mails.Eventually after 10 weeks Barclaycard got my money refunded. Not a good company to do business with at all. Don't bother...
Ordered a pair of glasses over 2 month ago. They promised next day delivery, than 28 days. Countless emails I sent them asking for an update, 2 weeks ago they let me know that they discountined the glasses I ordered. I am still waiting for a refund on my card. Never ever will I order from them again and will make sure I warn everyone I can to avoid the company. Horrible customer service and I am pretty sure it must be against the law as well what is going on. They have had my money for 2 month, never received the item neither a refund and worst of it, I was not even told on the way what was happening only after countless emails I sent them.Worst experience I have come across so far.
I have just bought 2 pairs of sunglasses as presents and when they didn't come a couple of days after ordering them, I googled the company and read all the horrendous reviews. My heart sank and I emailed the company - they replied that the glasses were in the way - I didn't think it would happen, but was delighted to receive both pairs as ordered this morning, only 5 days after ordering them
I ordered some Ray Bans from this company. When there was a slight delay I got worried and had a look at some of these reviews. However, they turned up and were fine. Four stars instead of five because of the delay, but otherwise a good, simple transaction and some great cheap shades.
Looks like I'm experiencing the same problem - I ordered two pairs of sungalsses but was initially told they were out of stock. This was followed shortly by another email stating that the stock was discontinued and I should order another pair instead. However, the money was debited nonetheless from my credit card.I have tried calling but the line goes dead. I have been promised a refund by email on a few occasions but nothing has happened to date. I have now printed out all my correspondence to send to my bank, which will deal with the issue.Based on my experience, I would NEVER, EVER advise anybody to use this website. I have yet to read a positive statement about wantsunglasses.co.uk.Caitriona
I thought I would give this company a try as they said they had the Rayban sunglasses in stock. When I found out they did not have the stock I asked for my order to be cancelled as I was travelling the following week. They had already taken my money, which I am sure is against the law as they should only take on despatch of goods. I asked for a refund on 4 occasions. It took 3 weeks to finally get a cheque sent back. There telephone number never worked. If they can run a company, then anyone can, worst experience I have encountered. Buy from a trusted source.
hi iam going through xactly the same situation , i being trying to contact them but their phone line isnt working as soon i select the option the phone line going dead , and its beine more 6 weeks now not sunglasses not refund , i paid by debt card i dont know if i can get my money back ?still waiting and i ll not give up
Wantsunglasses.co.uk review :
Perhaps the most ironic name in internet shopping.
IF YOU WANT SUNGLASSES DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
please just buy your sunglasses in a shop on the high street.
it's worth the extra 20 quid.
If you do buy form this company make sure you do it on a card where you will be able to get the money back - visa debit chargeback is the process I am now going through to get my money back some 30 days after I ordered from wantsunglasses.co.uk .
I ordered a pair of sunglasses from wantsunglasses.co.uk to be told the next day that they had been discontinued, and they offered me a refund or to choose another pair. Fair enough - it can happen, although discontinued products should not be advertised on their website at all I thought it could be an easy mistake to make.
As I only wanted the pair of sunglasses I had gone to their site for I opted for the refund and was told the next day it had been issued and would appear back in my account in a matter of days depending on my banks clearing time.
My banks clearing time is 7-10 working days.
15 working days later and still no refund I contacted them again - only by email they will not take calls about orders already made - to be told the accounts dept is issuing the refund and it will be on my card soon.
another 10 working days gone and no refund on my account.
Again more emails to them but this time no replies at all.
And so I am now chasing the money through Visa debit chargeback.
Thankfully that system is in place to protect consumers against this kind of company.
