I logged into Ipoints today for the first time in a good few months and saw that there was a search engine which gave you ipoints for searching. Now, I am a loyal Google user and have never found Yahoo or any of the other search engines quite as good. Anyway, I thought I'd have a gander at this 'webfetch' thing, pick holes in it, and revert back to my beloved Google. Anyway, so far I think webfetch is, dare I say it, a wee bit better than Google... ~ What is this 'webfetch'? ~ Simply, webfetch is a search engine... with a difference! You type in your search into a box like normal, but it collects results from Google, Yahoo, Livesearch ...

With the expanding empire that Google has created for itself, its hard to imagine what we did for web searches before they came along with their nice shiny interface and unassuming geniality. We can all too often forget that they have rivals, alternative search engines that in most cases existed before Google, but have been eclipsed by Google's gargantuan shadow. These alternative search engines can sometimes throw up the odd result that Google missed or sort images in a way that doesn't link directly with the file name.
