I have wanted to build my own website for so long now,but being an airhead I was totally put off and confused by the many sites I visited for information.
So many throw pop ups at you,enough to put even the greatest insomniac to sleep!
Others offer information of an extremely confusing level which makes you wonder why you are even bothering in the first place.
Then I'm not sure how but, I stumbled across Webmonkey.
This site is most importantly very easy to navigate,and very easy to understand.
Offering a 'How To'library which covers Authoring,Design,Multimedia,E-Business and Programming.
In Authoring you are taken step by step through the basics of HTML.
Every aspect of creating your own web page
is detailed clearly.
At the end of each step you can click to try out what you have just learnt and view it to see for yourself if you understood and got it right.
I have printed a copy of their 'cheatsheet'
which gives you a complete list of tags and alike with short description.
Also I took advantage and printed a copy of their color codes,this shows you a wide range of colors and their 'hex' code.
Along with the basics a huge variety of information is offered,from finding web hosts to handy tips and programmes you may find very useful.
I now know where to start and have completed the first basic steps of my own web page with ease and confidence.
It was such a buzz seeing my own HTML come to life.
