Advantages: great advice site, excellent information point

Disadvantages: none

With a wedding coming up I have been looking for some inspiration for the big day. Whilst searching on Google I came across Wedding Chaos a bulletin board for all brides/grooms to be. I signed up back in January and since have been rather obsessed. In the past I have been dubious of message boards mainly because they need to be very popular to work. I cannot stand the message boards that have a new post every few weeks as they are boring and pretty pointless.

On first impressions the site seemed quite busy and looked like a place I could use daily to help plan my wedding. The signing up stage is rather easy and is run by a few very nice people. The best part is that despite having moderators the site has little need for them. I have not seen anything dodgy on there and all conversations/discussions are done so very professionally.

Alongside the message board there is an advice site with a monthly newsletter. This newsletter has a regular competition to get everyone involved. I have won a small prize on the competition which is always a good thing when on a tight budget.

The message board is split into several forums to make it a lot easier to find topics or to ask a question. The sections are divided into forums such as videography, marquee hire, stationary, dresses, bridesmaids etc and this makes it a lot easier to find advice when in a hurry. The people on the site are all very human and asking advice is easy as it's like a little family. I know that when I am having a few problems I can ask a few questions and get sensible, honest answers back. This feeling of trust is great when planning a wedding mainly because I know I can get a more honest opinion than if I asked my parents, friends or other half. It is easier to give honest, brutal advice to a person over the net than it is to your best mate.

The gold and silver design looks elegant and is quite appropriate for a wedding site. The design is very easy on the eye. I have found the 'details' forum most useful as it includes stories from each member about their plans and often gives great ideas for my own day.

In addition to this it's also a great place for businesses to advertise their services. Many of these people will offer discounts to members so it's easy to get everything from this one site. There are people on there offering videography, photography, bespoke stationary, dresses and cakes. I personally do not know where I'd be without Wedding Chaos as most of my ideas have come from here. Whenever I have had a problem whether wedding related or not the people on there are so helpful ready to offer professional advice at any hour of the day. If you are getting married in the near future this site is definitely one for you ... http://www.weddingchaos.co.uk/wedding-forum/index. php?act=idx

Summary: A great place to go for advice and support when planning a wedding!

I never had anything like this when I got married! I just used loads of magazines and they cost me a fortune! Nicola x
