Advantages: hilarious cartoons, a good forum for upcoming flash artists, high funtionality in layout
Disadvantages: adverts.
Home of the famous "Badgers Badgers Badgers" animation, Weebls-stuff is an online showcase of flash animation, from the proprietor of the site, Weebl, and quite a few other upcoming flash artists.
There various flash cartoons, to give you a rough idea, here is a a few of the more prominent ones:
***Weebl and Bob***
Two little egg-shaped beings who rock back and forth, in a similar way to the 80s children s toy of a similar name, and are constantly berating each other, their voices almost entirely unintelligible murmurs, only understandable through the speech bubbles. This cartoon covers their hilarious and surreal adventures, specifically Weebl's ongoing quest for PIE. These characters have really developed well over the years, and even a DVD of their material as available from the online shop, as are T-shirts, mugs and other merchandise.
***On the moon***
A slightly less popular toon, On The Moon follows the adventures of The Toast King, who rules over the moon, or is at least under that impression, his plans often being foiled by Insanity Prawn Boy, a mentally-challenged crustacean, and Moon Keith Moon, a talking urn apparently containing the remains of the deceased drummer of "The Who."
***The Lord***
A black an white cartoon with very early camera effects, The Lord is a hand-drawn animation featuring a delusional alcoholic drug-abusing 1930s aristocrat, who is constantly ordering around and berating his unseen manservant "Cockfoster."
The site has come quite a way over the years, but sadly, along with the increased functionality of the website (toons can be ordered by release, popularity etc.) a number of ad banners have appeared on the site, and it even seems Weebl and Bob have sold out, doing marketing campaign cartoons for Cadbury's Creme Eggs. They do however confess to this in one of their public cartoons, in which Weebl is lazing around on a big pile of cash.
The cartoons are sort-of suitable for children, but there's a lot of innuendo here, as cute as the characters are, and many jokes will probably go over kids' heads. Either way, if you're looking to kill a few hours, this is a very funny, weird and addictive website I would highly recommend for those with a manic sense of humour and too much time on their hands.
Summary: Lovely Stuff.
