Newest Review: ... Why? Because that's just the kind of virtual chat-mates they are! (More likely it's because they've come to realize I have no discernible dignity and that my American obnoxiousness prevents me from distinguishing between positive and negative attention, thus it's better to avoid risking the possibility of unintentionally encouraging my antisocial behavior with any shows of attention.) What ... more

... I particularly like about Weirdlist's tell-it-like-it-is, speakeasy atmosphere, is that it considers no topic or subject to be socially taboo. This encourages members to express those private, nitty-gritty thougts they'd normally keep to themselves or...more

. WEIRDLIST: A HALFWAY HOUSE FOR RECOVERING CIAOSTERS, DOOYOO-HEADS AND DESTRUCTIVELY-CREATIVE OP-COMPOSERS: Let's face it, folks, if you're an anti-consumer like me, your op of product ops is that they flat-out suck. Suck, suck, SUCK. I genuinely feel guilty subjecting you to the one or two sucky prod ops per year that I stoop to composing (I have a very low ceiling above my desk). The reason I've been masquerading as a consumer obsessed with providing you and the rest of the consumer product-consuming world, this dreadfully mundane tripe we call "consumer-product information," is because I didn't have an outlet for my creative writing. ...  Read the complete review

When you give a million monkeys a million typewriters: you'll eventually end up with the complete works of Shakespeare, so they say. Writing a description that does Weirdlist justice is a struggle. The simplicity of the site hits you first. It's colourful to the extent that the pale blue background contrasts the body of text. The only visual extravagance is a tally counter. Weirdlist is friendly to all connection bandwidths. Be you on a crank driven 28k dial-up modem or have 100Mbps of cable fused to your hard drive, Weirdlist will appear in two shakes of a dragon's tail. The site does not suffer problems with any of the browsers available. It doesn't matter ...  Read the complete review

After reading a few reviews about weirdlist, I had always been tempted to go check it out. From everything I read, I got the impression of a humorous website, with funny articles that you can subscribe to, written by the owner of weirdlist - Keith, also known as Alkaliguru in other parts. After finally going over to take a look at the begining of January this year, the first thing I read was an 'announcement', that had been posted on the messageboard by keith. The forum had been hacked, and basically, everything was gone, new posts had to be started, and people had to ...  Read the complete review

-Introduction- Have you ever wondered whether there is life inside your PC? Of course, the answer is that there isn’t as your PC is just a box of circuits and stuff but when logged onto the Internet you do have the opportunity to seek others out and discuss all kinds of subjects. Personally, up until now it’s an aspect I’ve shied away from. I guess it’s always been a question of time or lack of, together with the debate around not knowing whom you are dealing with. That may have all changed now. -Weirdlist- I’ve known about the existence of Weirdlist for some time but didn’t realise that it was the brainchild of the eponymous Alkaliguru who most ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review weirdlist.com: It hides the bruises (840 words)

Earlier this year I took a break from the opinion sites. Why is not important, but you might be interested to know where I went. What I really missed about the sites was chatting to people and the odd bit of friendly banter, so I went and had a look at Weirdlist. I'd already been a member there for about a year because the man who runs it, Keith, is one of the people I like best on the Internet. He's one of the funniest people I know and one of the most intelligent. That's quite a combination. I'd been too busy to realise what a little gem this site is. So, was it love at first sight? Well, no it wasn't. You see, the humour can be very whacky and off-the-wall. ...  Read the complete review
