Advantages: e-cards and a surprising lot more!

Disadvantages: Not really any

Compared to many e-card sites Wicked Moon is very attractive graphically, though personally I’m not too sure about the butterfly mouse-trails on the home page. The owner of the site is Jason M Brown a professional artist, you can commission original paintings and portraits by him and another artist Mick Stubbs . Both artist live in England (hooray!). I liked the selection and variety of cards which also includes animated cards and the possibility of using your own pictures to make into cards. I also thought the humorous moaning postman that appears to confirm that your card is sent is a nice touch. There is a help page for sending the cards. This may sound a bit stupid, but for people new to technology (like my Dad who is still confused by ATM’s, bless him), it’s actually a good idea.
The one thing wasn’t not too sure about, but definitely was not impressed by, was the fact that there was no description of what the buttons at the top right of the cards pages where too. A petty little point I know, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time and I’m no exception to the rule.
Wicked Moon offers more than simply the chance to send cards, it also offers free postcard software, there is a catch, it’s only free through sponsorship. Also your web site and graphics have to be of a suitable standard. If you only have a small site with not many graphics then a non customisable version is available, this version can be downloaded without having to make an application for it. If you want the full version without the sponsorship then a fee is required.
You can also get a selection of Free graphics for card sites from Wicked Moon.
You can get an e-mail account there for a year, but it will cost you $10 which at the time of writing is roughly £7.
There is also a page which explains some of the ways to make money from your web site by placing advertising across your site ( Find the page by clicking on the
little money bag button on the top right of the cards pages). It provides links to advertisers that have been used by the owner of Wicked Moon, with a slightly dooyooesque critique of his personal experiences of each. I was interested to learn that ‘ (CPM advertising is where you're paid for every 1000 banners displayed on your site. This means no one actually need click a banner for you to get paid).’
There are a couple of things of interest to aspiring writers at Wicked Moon. A link to a poetry contest, which has $1000 first prise and is free to enter (you keep the rights to the work). Also there is a continuing story ‘The Neverending Story’ that is written by a variety of authors which you can join by adding your contribution.
Last but not least there is the purely fun side to this site. Java games from the 80’s that are still fun and can also be sent as e-cards. Jokes and Wicked jokes which I warn you now are for over eighteen. In my opinion a very good site that I enjoyed visiting and using.
