This is quite annoying because you don't arrive at the exact link you need to get your download. You are left, high and dry, at the top of a list of links and you have to find the correct one yourself. Winfiles does have a little more than just downloads to attract visitors. There are several how-to articles on the internet and networking and some tips and tricks to amuse you. There's some very useful stuff on this site, but only if it's Windows software you want. If you use linux, or you have a Mac then forget it! This site is actually part of the CNET Network and has what looks like a Windows interface. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a Windows site as it even has the 'clouds' wallpaper. Perhaps the most useful downloads available from this site are the latest device drivers. Files aren't stored locally, you have to folllow the link to the site that holds the file you want. A web site I would recommend is www.winfiles.com. This site is full of useful tips, tricks and downloads. It will also give you links to web sites for driver updates and other tips pages. Most of the software available on this site are shareware of freeware and allot of this software is very useful ranging from tutorials and Add onss (for office 2000 etc) through to stand alone programs such as registry tweaks. As with all shareware you get the odd useless program and the only problem with this site is that it has so many programs it can be daunting at first to find the best of the bunch. In addition to the software this sit offers tips and tricks to customise and speed ... Read the complete review

What ever the program you are looking for, Winfiles will almost likely to have it. From the small programs such as icon makers to the big major programs such as image editors and media players. Bored of the normal plain CD Player that comes with Windows? Or fed up with not being allowed to view basic text on Notepad because the file is to large? Then go to Winfiles and find an alternative program, you'll be gauranteed to find something! It also has a huge list of games for the PC, from the simple 'Hangman' to the more adventureous 'Age of Empires' The site is SO easy to naviagate that it's impossible to go ... The thing I like about winfiles is that it is laid out in the same way as Windows is. You simply click on the Icon to go to the section you want. There is a separate section for drivers, which is comprehensive and another for desktop themes. The main category is shareware and this is divided into several other categories. When you choose your category it lists the entries with the newest item first. Each item has a brief description, access to the authors web site, conditions of use and price where applicable. When you want to download you simply click on the item and it starts (you do not get given lots of options before you start downloading). I do ... Read the complete review

Winfiles is another of those great sites that just seem to contain everything you want. Its like Cnet and Zdnet but with a more graphical interface rather than text based. This causes the site to load up slower than the others but only marginally and unless you are on a very slow connection you will not be too bothered about this. Winfiles makes no attempt to be anything else but a place for windows files. The site does not make any petty attempts to become an everything site like Cnet or Zdnet. This is much to its credit as you dont get lost for what you are looking for. The main reason for visiting would be for Drivers I think because it has a very ... Read the complete review
