Advantages: Looks good great for drivers

Disadvantages: Doesnt store its own drivers so it doesnt have the older ones

Winfiles is another of those great sites that just seem to contain everything you want. Its like Cnet and Zdnet but with a more graphical interface rather than text based. This causes the site to load up slower than the others but only marginally and unless you are on a very slow connection you will not be too bothered about this.

Winfiles makes no attempt to be anything else but a place for windows files. The site does not make any petty attempts to become an everything site like Cnet or Zdnet. This is much to its credit as you dont get lost for what you are looking for.

The main reason for visiting would be for Drivers I think because it has a very nice selection of drivers for every type of hardware all in there own catagory and then sub catagory. Winfiles however does not seem to store its own drivers it mearly links to the official site where the drivers are kept. There are advantages and disadvantages to this.

The advantages are that the drivers will allways be up to date because the manufactuerer will be providing them. It also means you will be at the site where you can gain more info on your hardware should you need it.

The disadvantge would be that Winfiles has no control over what drivers remain on the site, this could mean that older drivers get lost in the past even though some people might need them.

winfiles does not just have drivers though, it has its fair share of software too, there are Shareware sections and things such as desktop themes etc. But its not the best site for them, stick to this for Drivers and go else where for software.
