Opinionators, a rare breed, an eclectic collection of writers of varying degrees of readability, writeability and likeability (you can add "ability" to lots of descriptive words, it's fun! ). Usually these people congregate on one or more opinion/review sites such as Ciao, Dooyoo or U-Rate-It, they read and rate each others scribblings and sometimes enter into a bit of correspondence via Forums and Guestbooks. Now there is the reletively new (three months old new) Woggle.co.uk, an e-zine for opinionators, written by opinionators and published on the web by opinionators. Woggle is both funny and informative with many old friends contributing and is fast becoming the most anticipated monthly event on the web calander. So what does it look like and what features does it have? HOME PAGE. The home page has no flashy thingies to assault your sensitive eyes, it has, funnily enough, a picture of two "woggles" either side of the header. A woggle, for those not in the know, is a wee round thing that scouts use to hold their "neckie" together. The page is bright, well laid out and each feature is accesable by simply clicking on the highlighted link. At the top, on the left hand side is a wee box with "W"-"C"-"D"-"U& quot; in it, clicking on one of these letters changes the colour scheme of your edition of Woggle, e.g W = woggles own pishy green colour, U = U-rate-it's mellow yellow colour. (C is for Ciao and D is for dooyoo) There are sub-headers for Welcome, features, news and gossip, and fun. You can jump to any given article by using a menu on the left hand side. There are also links for the guestbook and contact details. NEWS AND GOSSIP. Here you can catch up with all the latest news and gossip going on in all three of the opinion sites (Ciao, dooyoo and U-Rate-It), also included is gossip from various forums relating to opinioning
like The Grope and Chuckleweb FEATURES. There are quite a few items under the Features heading including things like: Opinionating advice, a bit tongue in cheek this month with the advice; "Woggle's opinionating advice this month is don't, at least every now and then." "The great and the good" is a monthly feature on a well known opinionator with questions set by the editorial team. Questions like; "Our evil genius has stolen your legs and won't give them back until you paint every single thing in your house one colour. Which colour do you paint everything? If he feels generous and lets you keep one thing unpainted, what's it to be?" So you can see it's not to be taken too seriously. "Where are they now" finds out what ex-opinionators are up to now, this month it's "peel.rebekah" under the spotlight, and very interesting it is too. "Editors tip", this month most of the team have busy with things like moving house, contemplating navels and getting drunk on meths so the only tip they could manage this issue was how to count to ten, very useful for someone like me! "Woggle picks" are usually the pick of opinionators home web sites but this month they have picked sites that they like, sites such as ; http://www.haydennet.com/gayevents/decadence99/pin k_cowboy_very_hairy_ass_DSCN0164 .JPG and http://www.theonion.com/onion3919/report_majority_ of_human.html. FUN. "So what's your favourite?" This issue Matt Roberts gets to ask the editorial team the questions, the answers are, as usual ,very different from person to person. "Mystic Reg" A bit like Mystic Meg only smellier, Septic Peg might have been a better title. There's a personality test, letters to the Ed and the guest book here, along with a link where you can email suggestions or just simply write to thw woggle team to heap praise and chocolate
on them. THE TEAM. First names only I'm afraid, for reasons of national security! Sandra Sue Sarah Jill Keith Neil Claire Kate Chrissie They all make up the team that *is* Woggle, subscription is free, just sign up at www.woggle.co.uk and enjoy the brightest, funniest e-zine on the web.
