Free - it’s one of the greatest words in the English language isn’t it? Now don’t get me wrong I’m not one of these people that thinks if it’s free grab it, not by a long shot - but hey I’m still not adverse to grabbing a decent freebie whenever I get chance, and with wooksnsb helping me hunt them out, I’m getting plenty more chance’s than I ever have done.

Now in my 5 years online the old freebie site has had a bit of an evolution - when I first got online it was literally just a list of links - most of which outdated, to freebies which more often than not never arrived - throw in that site design was usually shoddy, and generally hard to navigate and the hunt for anything decent wasn’t a fun one. Nowadays though the ‘Freebie Site’ has evolved into forum’s with helpful staff which have several categories for different types of freebie and both members and moderators helping people if they want something specific - and in my eyes the best of the bunch is wooksnsb, though saying that I’m biased - you see the staff-member called Margera? That’s me that is.

But wooksnsb is much more than just a freebie site, it also lists worth to enter competitions, has a general banter board, a board for posting jokes and one of the most fun parts - an arcade with over 200 games in it.

Now breaking the site down into the several main areas is going to be easier for me than doing one big-ass review, so here goes.

Signing Up/site design: Signing up is easy, all you need to do is provide a valid e-mail address and select a username and password and as soon as the site owners approve your account you’ll be in.

Design wise you couldn’t ask for an easier site to navigate - when you visit you’ll be given a front page with instant links to all the main parts you need to be thinking about, as well as a couple of general links to recipes and an as yet un-used picture gallery.

Freebies: These are split into several sub-categories (these being CD and Dvd, Food and Drink, Stationery, Books and Magazines, Freebies for kids, Health and Beauty, Internet, Pet and Other freebies for anything that doesn‘t naturally fit into any category) and almost every day you can be guaranteed for a new freebie to have been added, and these can range from anything from doggy treats, to sim-cards to Wedding stationery.

The freebie’s are regularly monitored for dead links by the efficient and sexy staff (hey I am one of them), and any dead links are handily put into a separate forum called Freebies gone but not forgotten - which is always an aid if you thought you’d seen a freebie but can’t find it anywhere, rather than other freebie forums that just delete it never to be seen again.

One of the best things about the freebie side of the site is that the friendliness of everyone on site (not just us sexy fantastic staff) is that if there’s ever anything specific you ever want for free or cheap just ask and someone’ll almost certainly be able to help you find what you’re looking for (of course ask for discounted monkey-porn and I’m getting all moderator-ish on your ass), again this isn’t something that used to happen on the old slinks sites’ so is a nice touch in my eyes.

Competitions: Again they’re split into different forums (This time Competitions ending in that month, Text Competitions. Postcard Competitions, Monthly entries, Daily Entries and online competitions).- and once again us sexy staff make sure that only valid links are posted, and again there’s plenty of competitions to choose from and of course if you find any new ones - feel free to join and add them.

Arcade Games: Before I start lets get one things straight - MINE championships, k? right back onto the review, you know all those other forums that you sometimes get a member who finds a funny little game that you waste a couple of hours on - well imagine instead of the occasional thread here or there a separate page where all the games are sat waiting for your playing pleasure.

The kind of games you can expect include: Dealer (play a drug dealer buying and selling drugs whilst avoiding debt collectors and the fuzz), a few Breakout clones, a few random Japanese games, the whole Yeti games range and much much more. Now I’ll be the first to admit that there are some games that I just don’t get/like - but for every 1 game I don’t play there’s probably 5 that I do, and the arcade section has seen me wile away many a boring afternoon.

Throw in that the owners of the site are quite regularly adding more games to the list and you’ll find it a part of the site that you struggle to pull yourself away from - and it does occasionally get a tad competitive in the friendliest kind of way of course.

Banter: Where would any message-board be without a general chat forum and a welcome to new members forum? Of course wooksnsb has them both and you’ll find it a nice place to sit and chat with like-minded members and online friends. One thing I would say is that recently there have been a couple of people sign up with for want of a better phrase ‘ulterior motives’ - but again the staff are on top of it and do anything they can to make sure that the site is still a harmonious place for all members.

V.I.P.: Imagine the above....... in overdrive - for a small fee of £2.50 a month there’ll be a lot more games for you to play as well as a lot more exclusive freebies for you to peruse through. VIP isn’t a necessary thing to enjoy the site and its only been a pay thing a couple of weeks - it used to be a site where it was down to the site owners as to who got into the VIP lounge, but that does seem a bit cliquey - so now its just pay £2.50 and you’re in.

Other stuff: There are plenty of other mini-forums which you can get involved in, there’s a forum where if you find any bargains you think people would be interested in, then you can post it there, there’s one for household tips - whether you be in need of advice or you’ve found a sneaky extra channel on sky it’ll all be in there and there’s even a ‘User to User’ competitions forum where members can run competitions between each other.

But those aren’t the only bits and there’s simply just too many things to go into for one review, and with more things coming including prize-draws for the top posters on the site, well the site can only get better.

Final part I want to give a special mention to - is the ShoutBox - a section at the top of the web page where member’s can chat to each other about anything and everything, too often when I’ve been involved in forum’s that have seemed too cliquey because members have their own mini-conversations within a thread, at wooksnsb it hardly happens because if you want to chat - you can do it in the ShoutBox instead, so in my eye’s its a great idea.

Overall: I rate the site a lot, I wouldn’t be helping out as a Staff member if I didn’t, and I honestly think that it’s a site that can only go from strength to strength, with enough side-parts to get you hooked in and before long you’ll find yourself an active member and chatting as if you’d been there for years - just remember, the Staff members are all sexy (especially Margera) and the games championships are mine and you’ll have a great time.
