      DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!

They post lots of jobs which are door to door, 100% comission & overly long hours. Disguised as marketing, surveying and even customer service posts!! BEWARE!!! People recently got annoyed with poundland and tesco helping people gain experience who are on job seekers but dont seem to mind at these little scams and the companies helping to promote them e.g. WORKTHING.COM!!! Companies like this should be clamping down especially after all the exposure on panorama!! I will never be using this site again it is a joke and the staff are very rude!

I think generally if you read below that sums up Workthing.com perfectly, by the looks of it they get there staff to right glowing reviews or hack somebody elses account which seems to have happened below.

At the end of the day, I have not had a great experience with workthing, if I was you save your time, give up applying to be a escort, salesman, etc. Try and find a decent job with a decent company and search for that with somebody like reed.co.uk. At least on that occasion you will not waste a day on a full interview which lasts a whole day just because the company advertising or the company allowing to advertise wishes to sugar coat the reality of the site with flashy gimmicks on the front page saying phrases like account manager positions available.

I was looking through the online recruitment sites and came across this site. I had heard about it from advertisements on TV and radio. It?s a site that?s quite popular with students. I liked the slogan of the site ?Find a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life? Makes good sense. You have to sign up to become a member of the site. It is very simple and straightforward. Be sure to fill in all the questions because it will help to find you suitable matches. There are three main categories on the site Job Search, Career Path and At Work. On the homepages you will also find a very useful section on interview tips. They have tips from some of the top recruiters. Its definitely a section that should appeal to most people who are going for that dreaded interview. Did you know for example 78 per cent of the employers expect you to have done your homework on their company before coming to their interview. The site will show you how to research and what questions you should be asking. If you are looking for a job then try the job search. There are hundreds of jobs to chose from. You can see who hiring, the jobs in your industry, if there?s any European opportunities and if you want job in IT then there?s a special section for you. You can set up an email alert for any jobs that you want become available and you can save your CV online. The search engine is really good. Just enter the role you think that your job comes under like Education etc, the location and you can just enter a keyword. The results are really good and you should get a some good jobs matching your search. The site is extremely easy to navigate and is excellently laid out. There are no windows popping out and anyone can search and find a job using this search. The décor of the site is also very good. If you have a job then you may find the ?Career Path? section useful. You can get useful information to help you get a new
job , develop your career and stay informed about employment trends in your industry. If you are At Work they offer inspiration and advice to help you make the right decisions. They have excellent sections which will help you if you are thinking of leaving a job, changing jobs, if you want to stay and improve your current job, or if you simply need advice. I like the section on know what you are worth. Overall the site is extremely useful for find a job and giving advice on numerous other aspect related to finding a job or helping you stay in a job. It is a site that I will be visiting again without a doubt.

Somehow this opinion has been put up as mine and it is not I did not copy it or post it so please don't rate on my account but read barrytoplis's opinion he is the author. My sincere apoliges to barrytoplis I honestly don't know how this happened. WWW.WORKTHING.COM has been around now for about 18 months and I have to say is the best and most popular job hunting website around well for UK job hunters anyway and I was one of the first to try it out when it arrived along with it's huge advertising campaign which I may add was extremely successful. Now how to I describe this website without sounding like a walking advert as I have done in the past in opinions I have written eehhh oh well I will just tell you. When you first get to this site you are given immediate access to the job such and after entering the trade in which you seek work it will ask you your requirements i.e location, wage etc etc and oh how fast it does this and you then get in reply pages of jobs that have you running for your CV quicking than you can blink.(unfortunatly they had no jobs for escorts but never mind plenty else lol). Next step with this fantastic site is to register so that you can have access to their CV builder and bookmarked account service where you can bookmark and go back to any jobs that you may find intresting whilst flying around the website. Also you can fill in your job requirements and have them e-mail you any new jobs that arise and all for free well can't argue with that can you. This site is updated daily and even if you are at work having a sneaky peek at what else you could be doing and earning at the moment the speed of the site will allow you to surf and shut down quick enough to evade the demon bosses eyes. So what are you waiting for there are thousands of jobs on this site and one or more are just waiting for you.

By now, you will have seen the TV ads, you will have seen ads on billboards in your local town and you will have thought to yourself that its just another job search website. You'd be right. But - there are some points to be made about workthing.com, things that make it far superior to many of the other similarly themed resources on the internet: 1. Vacancies Its list of vacancies is huge, covering sectors far and wide including, but not limited to: Accountancy, Banking, Education, IT, Insurance, Law, Marketing, Retail and Travel. 2. Searching Its search capabilities allow you to search for the things that really matter to most people, including location and salary. Location was particularly important to me, yet I found that most sites seem to just say "UK" or give huge regions to search by - workthing.com was much better here and I was able to really restrict down to jobs that I would genuinely be interested in. 3. Applying/Enquiring online. Me, being quite sheepish about applying for jobs, just wanted to ask more about a job without submitting my CV or getting bombarded with phone calls from recruitment agencies... the option to enquire rather than apply online was a facility not available at most sites. 4. Training course information. If you're looking to improve your skills then there is also a database of training courses attached to the 'skills thing' section of the site. 5. Freelance work! In addition to all the usual job search facilities, there are also a number of employers with specific projects in mind, that offer their freelance work through the site, so that members can bid on the work involved... most of this seems to be around IT projects such as building web pages, but it seems a neat idea to bring the employer and freelance employee together in this way. 6. Plenty of advice available. Workthi
ng.com is more than a recruitment agency service. It also offers plenty of advice on things that matter to people in employment, those dismissed from work, those made redundant and those seeking employment.. current topics range from speed readin and assertiveness through to wrongful dismissal - you can even get your CV checked over online with a neat questionnaire. 7. News Industry news is another useful section of the site, which tells you all the latest in your industry. This is a handy tool where you can brush up on all the latest before your next job interview. So, in summary, workthing.com is great for anyone seeking employment, seeking help with issues at work, looking for freelance work, or even those who are just curious about the marketplace and the careers available out there. A nice touch is the salary calculator to find out whether you're overpaid or (more likely) underpaid. Its a fast site, nice simple graphic make for easy loading, and its very very easy to navigate. Its definately bright and appealing. That's all for now - happy job-hunting, Si

Workthing.com is Guardian Media's first venture into the World of Online recruitment. The Guardian's daily supplements have loyal followings in various industry sectors such as Teaching (outstripped only by the Times) and Media which attracts a lot of specialist recruitment advertising - in essence, Workthing.com's main purpose is to distribute this information via a new channel. You may have seen Workthing advertised on TV, you may have had the pleasure of them giving you a free breakfast at mainline railway stations. Guardian are obviously going full-throttle with the promotion of this site and putting plenty of backing behind the operation. The website itself is regularly updated with relevant news for each sector, has a number of useful tools such as a salary calculator which takes details of the job you do and where you do it and tells you what you are being paid compared to the average in other firms, and of course tools for sourcing jobs from Workthing's listings. The site is of use to those of us who are not currently looking for a job because it deals with all aspects of work - with information on employment rights and articles on such important subjects as "How to ask for a payrise" included on the site. The only gripe I have about Workthing is the rather garish colour scheme - bright green borders when you are not logged in, bright orange when you are. They would have done better in my opinion to stick to web colours, as the effect is more than a little garish. That said, Workthing is certainly worth fifteen minutes of your time whether you are currently in the job market or not.
