Advantages: Large range of reporting stations, Good range of maps, Decent forecasts
Disadvantages: Some pages quite slow to load
Although highly US oriented, Wunderground has a useful selection of data and forecasts for Europe and the UK, too. There are 3-day forecasts for over 200 UK locations, but this is no different to the myriad of other weather Web sites out there. What *is* different is the data available via maps, ranging from dew points to humidity to visibility. The data is presented via coloured areas on a map of the UK (or other places if you want) - the maps can be made to animate if you'd like to see how conditions have changed in the preceding few hours. To top it off, a large table of current conditions across the UK is also shown - this can take a few moments to load, but it useful in that it shows current conditions at various stations simultaneously. Overall, this site is good for general use - there aren't any advanced maps showing helicity, 1000hPa-500hPa thickness or vorticity, for example, but there are plenty of other sites out there with that data for those that need it. Weather Underground is to be congratulated for collating useful data in an easy to use site - and their forecasts aren't bad, either!
