Before I go into detail about the BritishRewards website I should explain how sites like these came about.

Making money from the internet for most of us is like the search for the Holy Grail.

Without selling your grannies teeth on EBay, setting up your own website to sell your own special recipe chocolate cakes or doing things that are not legal. Most of us tend not to make any cash from the internet. That is apart from the pennies earned by writing reviews.

For as long as the internet has been popular, people have been trying to make money from it.

For as long as the internet has been popular, advertisers have been trying to make people spend money on it.

For as long as the internet has been popular, companies have been trying to make money from it.

So internet companies pay advertisers to lure us potential customers to their websites so that we can spend our hard earned cash with them. That is not the whole story, but without writing a review the size of war and peace that should be enough information to help you understand why you can earn money when you spend (cash back incentive) and just by searching and visiting websites.

This is where companies like BritishRewards come into play. These sites offer people the chance to get cash back when they make purchases through their site.
For example assume you are a member of BritishRewards and you want to purchase a new computer, if you go through the British Rewards website to say PC world and buy a computer from them you will earn 1.75% of the money you have spent and this will be awarded into your British Rewards account.

You can also earn free cash, you simply click on the “paid clicks” icon and you’re presented with a selection of icons for various internet search companies.
For example you click on the Kelkoo icon through the British Rewards website and complete a search for a mobile phone, you get a list of results on the Kelkoo page, by clicking on one result you will earn 5p and this will also be added to your British Rewards account.

British Rewards are only one of a number of companies that offer you these incentives. In fact British Rewards are at present one of the smaller companies. This is no bad thing as they have obviously seen what other companies offer and try to do the same thing but better.

Why do these companies do this?
Well the answer is very simple; they only pay you a percentage of what the company that you have gone through pays them. So they are also making money. Therefore the more members they have that use the site actively, the more money they will make.

The site itself

The main screen
Just below the title you have a bar that has the following;

Home (brings up the home page).

My Account (gives you details of your account with British Rewards, when your signed in, it is worth noting that from here you can choose whatever method of payment you would like, paypal, cheque etc).

Vouchers (this has a quite extensive list of voucher offers, for example £15 off all purchases over £200 at The Link).

Competitions (these are British Rewards own competitions, for example free entry to win 25p on the Bonus Ball).

Easy Cash (here you have the chance to sign up for various offers to earn easy cash).

Forum (here you will find details of the site, competitions as well as a host of other topics, it is your choice as to whether you join this part or not, but one bonus of joining is you have more opportunities to earn cash).

Help (this brings you the frequently asked questions; hopefully you will find answers to any problems, including “How do I delete my cookies?”).

On the left side

Retailer channels (this has a list of the types of retailers, you will also find the link to “Paid Clicks” here, this takes you a list that gives you the chance to run searches for cash).

Site Stats (the number of members and the number of retailers, both of which have been steadily growing).

On the right side

Members (where you either log in or join, also if you’ve lost login info).

New Retailers (as it suggests a list of the new retailers).

Featured Retailer (British Rewards place as the name suggests a Featured Retailer, this may be one where you earn money from joining or one that offers a percentage back when you make a purchase).

Need Help (This will also show whether “Help” is on or off line, it is one part that I think is a great bonus for the user and British Rewards should be praised for this, basically if you click this link you will find yourself in a chat room with a British Rewards adviser, who can hopefully solve any problems you have) I could think of a few companies that could look at this and maybe try it themselves.

Along the bottom

About Us (as it suggests, this tells you about British Rewards).

Terms and Conditions (in common with most websites, you will find the terms and conditions, something that so many people overlook).

Privacy Policy (another part often overlooked by the user and one really to put your mind at rest).

Contact Us (details of how to contact British Rewards, to be honest probably not as needed on this site as it is on others, purely because of the online help available).

Over the last few years I have joined many sites such as this. To be honest they are all very similar in what they offer, a way for them to earn while the end user also makes a few pennies. Although similar they all try to offer differences that will attract more end users. New sites such as British Rewards will find it harder to attract regular users and will also find it harder to attract companies to their scheme. I think that British Rewards have tried their best to show their approach is different. They do have a forum (in keeping with quite a few other companies) but it is their online help that makes them stand out from the crowd.

They have instant rewards that show up on your account straight away. Other earnings tend to appear either late on a Wednesday or early on a Thursday. This again is a refreshing approach as you have a better idea when your earnings are going to appear.

They do not have a minimum payout, again novel, but you would need to have either a paypal or British pay (like paypal) account to make use of this. They have however recently introduced payments by cheque with a minimum payment of £8 (again an amazingly low payout amount). They do also offer vouchers, but as these change from time to time it is probably better to have a look when requesting a payment rather than taking it for granted that they will have a particular voucher available.
Please do remember before you claim your payout, check with your account details as to which payment method you have selected.

On taking a look at British Rewards and comparing to other sites, I found that on the daily searches the earning potential on British Rewards is higher than a lot of the others.

One thing that all of these sites have in common is the need to have as many retailers as possible (to attract members) and to have as many members as possible (to attract retailers). Since I have been a member of British Rewards I have seen both of these grow at a fairly quick rate, this means for me as a member, that the earnings potential is on the increase.

If I was to pick a down side to British Rewards, it is daily searches are boring and although not too time consuming the boredom factor is present.
Another downer is the site does appear to have been made up in some sort of template format, not in itself a problem and I am sure that as this company grows the website will evolve and take on its own unique identity.

You can earn money from referring people; at the time of writing this the rate is 25p per person. Okay that is not as much as some other sites. But to get the payout the person who you refer has only got to join and become an active member, so no waiting for large payouts to come from the other sites that never materialise because the people that you referred never bothered to reach the minimum payout amount.

Overall I have found this site to be a very good example of a company that looks at other sites and has addressed a lot of the problems that other sites have. Provided the company does not sit back on its success thus far, I can see this site becoming a fairly large player, giving regular users the chance of a few extra pennies.

Summary: A growing reward site

A very thorough review. The cashback industry sure has become saturated in the past few months, and I think you're right - British Rewards has tried somewhat to be unique in the industry. It's quite an interesting concept really - websites and companies harshly competing to help Mr Smith save money! Good review. Ben.
