Advantages: good feature and easy to navigate

Disadvantages: a bit slow

Searching for something specific on the web used to be hard.Trying to find something on George Washington on another search engine you'd find tons of blind links and stuff you weren't looking for.

Yet with Yahoo! Search I found it to be much easier of a chore to find something specific on the web with it's main and sub categories.

Nearly everyone in the world knows what Yahoo.com is.It being only one of the few internet search engines that advertise on television and publications it has become a huge sucess.

Finding what you need is a snap on Yahoo

Divided onto Yahoo's main page are 14 main categories with countless sub categories.These main categories include Arts,News and Media,Science,Health,Entertainment, and much more.

The only thing Yahoo really lacks in it's searching capabilities I think are the lack of results.Unlike most search engines where there is over 100,000 matches found Yahoo finds only around 100.

But this is not really that bad taking in the fact that Yahoo uses human research to put web sites in it's search directory so you will know you'll find only the best on what your looking for on Yahoo.

In addition to all Yahoo's great features it also has some of the best news on the net divided into categories like Entertainment,Headlines,Science,Health, and more.

Next my favorite thing about Yahoo.... the auction part of it's website.Holding the most user friendly auction site on the net (I think it's better then Ebay but that's my opinion) it holds thousands and thousands of items.Getting to sell stuff on Yahoo Auctions is incredible easy and you can style your selling page with pictures and information about the item your selling.

Finding great deals on stuff is also a plus about Yahoo Auctions.Buying a computer game at the store can run you up to £40.00, but on Yahoo Auctions you can find the same game used for under twenty pou
nds.

The shopping part on Yahoo.com is pretty good even though I don't use it for a main source of shopping on the net it is still pretty nice.

Yahoo.com has an instant messenger thing like AOL's messenger but it's not as good.Furthermore Yahoo supports mail so people can sign up for FREE and get their yourname@yahoo.com mailing list.Only bad thing is that all the good names are taken.

Newly partnered with Yahoo.com,Geocities.com has joined Yahoo.If you don't know exactly what Geocities is your missing out.If you've ever wanted to start a web business,make a personal page,or design a site after your favorite sports star you can do it all on Geocities for free.The last time I checked Geocities was giving a nice about of MB to store pictures and web pages.The only draw back is that Geocities forces you to put their advertisments on your page.

I used Geocities for my first web page on Limp Bizkit.It was a pretty big success getting about 1,000 web site visits every day.After about a year I moved it to Internations.net and plan to move it again.

Most of the time Yahoo loads at a nice speed but some days it takes forever.It may just be my computer but you never know.

In addition to Yahoo's regular searching capabilites it provides advanced search options to find something more specific like "George Washington's teeth" for example.

All in all Yahoo is pretty great.It has the usual stuff other search engines try to copy but Yahoo is the original king of the search engines.
