I did try to find a special page for Yahoo Personals, but couldn't, so Yahoo in general will have to do. This review is on Yahoo Personals only.
Once dubious about the reality of dating sites really working I have changed my mind. I met the love of a lifetime off yahoo personals and have never been so happy with anyone. He sent me a message to a special secure email address designed for replies to your personal ad. This way if you get caught with a pervert (and this is a down that there are quite a few, sadly) you can block them and cease the harasment.
With my sweetness, I read a couple short pieces written by him. This gave you a brief idea of the sort of personality they are. Although, my dearest is not as sarcastic as he said he thought he was. Also on the main profile, it gives a list of physical attributes and a few likes and dislikes, also it includes a list of conversation starters for you to chose to put on your profile. Once the profile is complete, when you look at other members profiles you can click on a tab at the top of their profile and yahoo give you a rough compatability percentage. Of course these are just guidelines as you will find some members in their likes and dislikes will just put 'Don't mind'. The great thing too is that the profile allows up to 5 optional pictures.
Although, navigating aroun the profile is useless without finding some profiles to view. There are 2 options in this. On your user page there will be a selection of people who suit you best based upon your profile. I didnt realise this at first and looked around all the other men on yahoo personals. This is where i found my sweetness. So, to look round these files you just fill in a few requirements. The basics being age range, the gender of partner you are looking for, you can even specify to see profiles with just pictures if you wanted.
r>So what now, you have found people you like on first impressi
ons, where do you go from here? I was too afraid to send sweetness a message, I have trouble with drying up for words when i need to use them. Honestly, I never sent a single message to anyone who didnt contact me first. But, if i had the courage to send a message I would of simple clicked the email me button on their profile.
The day i got my sweetness's message was the best thing i could of wanted. Funny, smart and stunningly attractive. I replied with my hotmail email on the bottom. The next afternoon we were talking on msn messanger, in the evening we swapped mobile numbers and he rang me and we spoke. The day after that we spoke online some more and then spoke for hours in evening. We decided to meet just 3 days later at the bus depot in Exeter.
Of course I dont recommend such fast meeting. He could of turned out to be a derranged murderer instead of just derranged. But eventually when you want to meet remember the rules of staying in public places.
The best thing I found about using Yahoo Personals was the safety. You have to be 18 to post and you cannot lie about your age as Yahoo Personals shares information with your email. I know this does not give 100% gareentee of age but its better than nothing.
I suggest trying this service out. No longer as good as it used to be, but with a well made profile you could recieve many replies. Without a picture I recieved about 5 new messages a day. So turnout can be good. Be prepared for some weirdo's and give it patients. Dont build your hopes up too high as it may not work for you.
Happy dating and don't worry to much about the perves, and I hope you find love and happiness from it like i did (:
