Advantages: The best
Disadvantages: none
I am on about 40 mailing lists at Egroups on a variety of topics and I run another seven groups, so as you can see I use Egroups a lot. It is an extremely easy system to use and you can be joining mailing lists within a few minutes of being online. It also handily remembers who you are when you revisit the site so that you don't have to be tapping in passwords every few days. You can find a mailing list on your chosen interest by searching for it in their search programme, This is easy to use and very quick. It will also cross match and find really obscure returns on what you have typed. Once you ahve found something that interests you, you simple click "subscribe". You can use to get all emails as they come through, or go onto a digest ( a wad of the day's email or 25 emails whichever comes sooner clumped together in one mail) or you cna just read them on the web next time you visit the site. You can change your settings at any time on the website or via email. Running a list is also very easy. Egroups have a quick set up which assumes the most common settings or you can customise when you set up. You can change any settings at any time. The only fault I have with Egroups is that *very* occasionally mails get lost, and sometimes if they are upgrading or something mails get delayed (particularly digests) and there is no way of letting your subscribers know. However this happens with other mailing list runners too.
