Advantages: Higher fees for surveys, surveys quite short,
Disadvantages: You have to earn £50 to cash your cheque
~*INTRODUCTION*~
I joined YouGov in September 2008. YouGov is a professional research and consulting organisation, measuring the use of the Internet and information technology. Like other sites out there, you sign up and are sent emails when a new survey is available for you to take part in.
~*THE SURVEYS*~
Surveys are usually on different topics, usually current events or situations or your opinion on different brands and services. They usually take me around 10 minutes to complete, and are not too long or boring like I have found with other sites like Lightspeed. The only thing I find is that they are few and far between. I usually get around 1-2 invites for surveys per month.
~*EARNING POTENTIAL*~
For completing surveys you earn between 50p to £1 or some qualify you for entries into a Prize Draw.
This is quite a bit more than you can earn on other websites, and the surveys seem shorter and less tedious than other sites too. I have been a member 5-6 months now and have earnt £4.50 which really is not much as like on Dooyoo, you have to earn £50 to claim a cheque.
You also earn £1 for signing up, and if you refer a friend you will receive equivalent amounts in survey credit for each survey they complete during their first three months of membership.
~*MY OPINION*~
Sometimes I ask myself why I bother. Earning £50 seems like an impossible challenge, especially at 1-2 surveys a month. However, they really don't take too long and are not too boring, so why not? Every little helps and you never know, one day I might just make it to the £50 mark for a little effort now and again. I would say this is one of the better survey sites out there, you are never going to get rich from it, but it's worth doing. Plus they have lots of prize draws, so you could strike it lucky before you reach the big 5-0!
Summary: One of the better survey sites out there, although don't expect to earn quickly!
