Advantages: Nice surveys, never screened out.
Disadvantages: High payout threshold, amount of surveys
I remember when at uni, times were getting hard, the student loan was at its lowest and had to find a way of getting some money. Then my mate Dave told me about this website. He said all you need to do is do a few surveys and you'll get paid. Me being me i bombarded him with question after question but it seemed genuine so i thought i'd give it a go. This was back in 2007 i think, maybe late 2007
Yougov is like probably millions of other websites out now is an internet based market research firm. In other words they send you surveys and you get paid for it.
When logging into the website its looks very professional and i mean very. Nice use of the white background with the red and black fonts.
First things first when logged in it will ask you whether you woud like to enter the panel area or the corporate area. You click on the panel area. When there all you do is click register now, allocated pretty much in the centre of the page. You enter the usual name, password and you also have to enter a word verification just to make sure you are human! Then your pretty much done. You also need to enter your address and a few other things so when you redeem your money they can send a cheque to you. They give you a £1 just for signing up with them (or 100 points now as they have changed the format for some reason).
They also have a referral system where when a friend or family member signs up you will earn the same amount as they will for the first three months. Not bad ey?!?!?
When a survey will come up you will receive an email stating that a survey is ready and you have until such a date to complete it. One of the great things about this site is that you will NEVER be screened out. When you have completed a survey you will be credited immediately. The amount you earn on the surveys vary. They can be as low as 50p (50 points) or as high as £3 (300 points). they highest i have been given it £2 (200 points). I bet you thinking this sounds great!! You also get surveys to enter there competitions for a grand prize of £1000 but havent won it so far. My time will come!!
The surveys usually consist of clicking boxes and on the odd time entering your oen opinion. The type of survey varies from electronic brands, drinks, clothing, travel to politics and the economy and all sorts. Surveys usually start off by asking you what you feel positive and negative about then go off to the main part of the survey.
However the minimum threshold to redeem your money is £50 (5000 points). £50!!!!! It may not look to bad as you will get surveys varying between 50p-£3 but this is why i dont like this amount. Surveys dont come very regularly. Sometimes you get 3-4 surveys to do and then you wont hear from them for a few months. Itvs very hot and cold or like a bus, you wait ages for a survey, then two or three come along. I have been on it for about 2-3 years now and have only been able to get ONE cheque off them. I so far have 2150 points (£21.50) and am hoping i can eventually get that by the end of the year! lol.
Overall i would recommend this site to all you dooyooers and anyone else who reads this. The surveys are quite fun and can be very quick to do. Also i have noticed that they are used in polls in newpapers and stuff when reading about the government and all sorts, so in a way your voice is being heard! You just have to be patient. It could be a nice suprise earner and you do it the odd time anfd then all of a sudden you have an extra £50. You dont have to keep logging on to the site, they do all the work for you. One to recommend, if you want to join send me a message and i'll send you my referral link!
Summary: could be an extra slient earner.
