For those of you who have no clue as to what youtube.com is then first of all where have you been? I don't think I go a single day without someone making a reference about the site! Second of all, I will very kindly explain what it's all about so you no longer have to live in the darkness and you can immediately get as hooked on it as I am!

It's a very simple concept really......It's a site where everyone can upload films that other people around the world can watch for free. The video that you put onto the site can be anything at all as long it's not classed as offensive or sexual. It can be anything from a live recording of your band to you and a few mates frolicking around on the beach. You can watch other people's video's too and see what is going on in the world around you.

Youtube.com is a very simple concept but has had a huge impact on the world in general. It's such a great site that is acessable and appealing to all generations because no matter what talent you have (or not), you can share it with the world.

My hubby and I love youtube for several reasons;

We have two young boys who are in bed by 6.30pm each night so we are basically confined to the house by this time every evening. This can drive you a little insane and can get rather boring unless you have a video camera. We have taken to making up silly dances, singing funny songs and various other antics just to entertain ourselves behind closed doors. Finally my hubby downloads a video of it on to youtube to show the world how very sad we are!

We don't have a TV so we tend to watch short clips of various programmes on the site. Lately we have been hearing an awful lot about Britains got Talent so whenever we know that the programme has been on we type 'Britains got Talent' into the search box and others have uploaded tonnes of different clips of all the acts that have appeared on the show. It's great to see the performances without all of the adverts and we don't feel totally cut off from the world.

If we are feeling a bit miserable all we need to do is type 'fail' or 'fall' into the search box and within seconds we are laughing at lots of people misfortune which always sends me into fits of laughter. I absolutely love it when someone falls over or their umbrella turns inside out. I never fail to laugh.

When I was pregnant I spend hours watching videos of people giving birth and because I was planning a home birth I wanted to see what it could be like. This was really helpful to me because I didn't know anyone who had a home birth so wasn't sure what to expect. I wasn't brave enough to upload my home video of the birth onto the site though so don't try looking!!!

There are some real talented people on youtube that make me wonder why on earth they haven't been recognised globally but there are also some utterly bizarre human beings that make me wonder whether they are for real.

I spend hours on this site and it is part of my daily routine to check out what people are up to. I would be totally lost without it and think it's a fun way to entertain or to be entertained.
