Advantages: Fantastic variety of videos

Disadvantages: Can keep you at a screen for far too long

Youtube is a video sharing website which from my experience can make hours of your life disappear without you realising it. The magnitude of this website is unbelievable, the number of videos uploaded all the time is barely comprehendible and the wide scope of these videos is equally as amazing.

The website is by all means the leading website of its kind and a pioneer of video sharing. So popular is the website that it has spawned TV programs which just explore the videos on it. You do not have to register to watch videos which makes everything immediately accessible. In order to upload videos (which anyone can do) you have to login in. This is good because it makes it easy to see all of the videos by one person by clicking on their username.

A great feature of youtube is next to any video you are watching, youtube displays thumbnails of similar videos. After watching a video, I nearly always click on a few of these which is what makes it fun because you come across all sorts.

For a great example of youtube at its best in my opinion, type in 'One String Willy' (I promise it is not rude in the slightest) which is just a bit of fun guitar playing.

Summary: A great website that has something for everyone
