Advantages: FUNNY FUNNY VIDEOS

Disadvantages: some videos can be boring

Youtube is a website where you can watch videos of just about anything. It was created in 2005 and is made by the same people who created Google.

Youtube is a fantastic site, you can watch films, listen to music and even live speaches from the PM Gordan Brown.
It has dramtically changed how the internet works and has created many cbyer celebrities through virul videos.

Its not just funny videos you can watch, you can watch movies on there (ilegaly) in parts of 10 minutes or so. I have watched loads of films on youtube such as the longest yard. I will point out that it is not actally ilegal to watch the film but its ilegal to download it onto the site.

Music.

You can listen and watch what ever music video you want just by typing the name of it in the serch bar. I find this very usefull because my i-pod is always breaking so I just use this instead.
For a while all music videos were taken off due to youtube not wanting to pay the artist so much but this has been sorted out now.

Channels.

You can create your own channel so everyone can see all of your videos and your favourite videos. I never really use this part of youtube as I think it is a bit pointless.

Download.

It is simple to download your own videos onto the site. But the videos can only be around 10 mins long. Once you mecome a member you can download as many videos as you like.

That was everything you need to no about youtube for a new comer, but there is loads more things you can do on youtube but thats just the basics.
