I have been playing games on Msn Gaming Zone for a while now, in fact I play chess every weekend with a guy in the states that is a good friend. I prefer playing people that I know though playing strangers also adds to my skill, so I admit to doing both.

MSN Gaming Zone is available to anyone who has a hotmail or msn email address. It is kind of part of the package, and if you do not have one, then it is easy to set up and is totally FREE.

Let us start by explaining how to get there. If you type Google.com into your browser, and then type MSN GAMING ZONE and press the I feel lucky button, you will be taken directly to the MSN Gaming Zone page.

There you wil find a variety of games of all kinds, but beware some of the more complicated games require that you have a CD to play them.

The games are divided into catagories:

CD REQUIRED ZONE.

The puzzle games are amazing. Most of these are solo games where you just play for your own entertainment on your own and can have family challenges. This is good fun.

Word and trivia again is a place to pass time and play games with words and trivia as the title suggests. Some of the word games are challenging and again, most are played by one single player.

Card and Board games is my favourite. This has all the classic games and to play these games, you really need to sign up. FREE. If you do not sign up, you cannot have the chat facility with the player you are playing with and we call these people that are too idle to sign up MUTES. You will not get many games because most people like the interaction of chatting whilst they play.

The Zone Casino, I have yet to discover although I do not enjoy gambling. Perhaps this is for you to discover.

Deluxe Downloads are a good way to play the games offlin
e. You simply download them and then play, but the one drawback with this is that you only get a limited amount of plays before it expires and then you have to de-install the game. It is for people to try out new games and some of them are very good.

Playing for Cash - never tried. Too risky in my book.
Racing and sports - okay for the boys but not my thing. Wish I could describe it but it is not a part of the zone that I participate in.

Kids Zone - great safe place for the kids to play. Lots of games on there that are fun.

CD rom required. These are the games where you need to buy a CD rom to be able to participate. The games are first rate but the cost can be expensive if you want to participate in all. Prices from $28 a CD.

At the top of the screen is a sign in button. Press this and you are taken to the sign in page. Follow the instructions online. If you do not have a hotmail account (completely free), then just sign up for one so you can play.

When you have finished signing up, simple chose the game that you wish to play and you are taken into a choice of rooms. Chose the inexperienced ones at first until you know what you are doing. There are the popular games of backgammon, chess, cribbage, hearts, and all kinds of games. Press the game that you wish to play.

MSN games needs to install files into your computer for you to be able to access this game. This is normal and takes minutes. When you arrive on the page for your chosen game, chose a room and a room appears with people playing at tables. Sit at a table and wait for someone to play with or chose to sit opposite someone who is already there, and the game begins.

I love MSN GAMES. I have played people from all over the world and yes, sometimes they are men and I tease them because the Australian men seem to think us "Sheilas" are not capable of winning. I chat them up whilst they play, they lack concentration and lose and then I
tell them that that is what happens when you think with other parts of your body than your brain !!!! Love it. Great fun.

I do regularly and I think it is a nice place for lonely people to go to have a nice game with someone else who may be there because they are lonely too, but believe me these are not just lonely people, these are people who want to play a game with someone else, and this is the best site I know for doing just that.
