~ ID Moments Warming Lubricant ~
* Please note this review may contain scenes of a sexual nature! *
Having been together longer than I care to remember and four children later my hubby and I do like to keep things exciting in the bedroom .... As if having four children doesn't already tell you that!
And in doing so I often turn to sites like Love Honey to have a browse at the offerings they have.
Love Honey is an online shop a bit like Ann Summers and navigation is very simple. To find the lubes just hover over the third tab offering 'The Essentials' and here you will see the option to choose 'Lubricants', after clicking this you will see the vast amounts of different lubricants that Love Honey have to offer and in the subcategories on the side you can pick the option for 'Warming Lubes'. Which is how I came to find this product.
There were a variety of different types available and having tried the Durex one in the past and not being overly wowed by it, I thought I would get the ID Warming Lubricant instead.
The packaging looked very simplistic but the warming red tones do scream heat.
I don't know why I went for a 'heat' lube rather than any other type it was just a spur of the moment thing which I am quite glad happened now!
Obviously as I ordered from an online store we couldn't try the product straight away having had to wait for the delivery which came surprisingly quickly two days later.
My order came delivered in really plain brown *discreet is the word I am looking for here!* packaging which is handy as then the postie doesn't know the dirty little secret hidden inside haha! And I was pleased to see that the packaging was nice and secure with no indication at all as to where it had come from ... Not that I am particularly bothered about that though.
Inside I found the bottle of lubricant and a white A4 size sheet with all the corresponding details such as ... well everything you would expect of a delivery sheet!
I ordered the large bottle which is 190ml ... Don't know what that tells you about me mind!
The bottle is quite tall and slim but tapers in shape from a large bottom to a slimmer top, it has a simple pump action dispenser on the top and is covered in a red and pink coloured film, this is not see through in anyway so you can't see how much or how little of the product you have left however I think it would be quite simple to tell just by the weight of the bottle or you could of course remove this plastic sleeve.
When trying to access the pump I found that the plastic label around the bottle came up over (excuse the pun!) the pump and there was no easy perforation to simply rip this open so a pair of scissors was needed. Once this top bit of red plastic was off however the pump was very easily accessible. The front of the bottle tells us the product brand ' ID Moments ' and type ' Warming Sensual Lubricant ' and that it is water based and also the size - mine being 6.4 fl oz 190ml.
The label is quite simplistic and plain with minimal fuss just some simple red lines and silver swirls.
The bottle very much reminds me of a shampoo bottle and would not look out of place put in the bathroom with such products, you certainly wouldn't be able to tell from a simple glance that it is an 'intimate' lubricant anyway.
So enough of that, here's the important bit, what you need to know - Does it work???
Well I can certainly answer that for you, yes it does. Is that all you need or would you like to know more? Well I'll tell you anyway!
Obviously we bought (I bought) it to use it in the bedroom and as it was delivered mid morning by the postie we had to wait until later that night to use, before the littlest came along we could very well have tested it there and then, whilst the cat is away the mouse will play and all that (or in our case whilst the kids are in school ...). So in anticipation I placed the bottle in my 'naughty' drawer in the bedroom ... Gawd, how bad does this make me sound lol!
So later on that night after showering etc... We got into bed. As my hubby is a big woss and has 'missed' his vasectomy appointment we still have to use condoms so in doing so we need a water based lubricant which is what this is, other types can cause condoms to break or disintegrate which is not what you need at all!
We used this during foreplay on both of us and whilst my hubby did say that it felt warmish it wasn't as strong as he initially expected, in saying that though this did not make it any less pleasurable. I on the other hand could feel quite an intense heat, it started out as nicely warming and as we moved further along, the heat intensified. As the heat got well, hotter I found I could feel his touch more and more and it turned out to be quite a pleasurable experience for us both.
We have used it on numerous occasions since and it is always the same ... Fab!
Oh, the bottle is very sturdy which makes pumping it out a nice easy job, the base is flat so it stands well on any surface.
The feel to the lube is quite silky to the touch, it is not a sticky lube like some we have used in the past and as so doesn't seem to dry out as quickly, after a while it does seem to dry a little and then become slightly more tacky than it was but it's still a very efficient lube.
With it being a water based lube it washes out of the bed linen with ease in a normal wash.
