... like this iron better then my old iron which was a morphy richards as it has better features. It doesnt drip on clothes, it heats up very very quickly and has a ball attached to the end of the cable/the iron itself so you dont end up with the twisted iron cable issue which normally means unplugging and de-twisting the cable. Goblin 1600W ... 1978 I had an iron which was one of the first of the steam irons - a Sunbeam Shot of Steam - which is still in use and I do like it because it is a nice heavy iron. When we moved here to Llandudno, mom and dad came to live with us and mom used to help me by doing my ironing for me, bless her. She didn t like a heavy iron and so, when her old one gave up the ghost, she decided to have a Goblin 1600W Iron which currently retails at £12.99 and weighs just 1.25kg. It came complete with a fitted plug containing a 13amp fuse. Braun ProGlide-Jet Iron ... seems to be the case that, like hair dryers, irons are almost disposable items. In the last 5 years we have had three irons which seem to have failed. It is not as though we have a particularly large amount of ironing to do but it does seem as though they wear out or just stop with some regularity. The Braun ProGlide Jet has been the latest to give up on us. It performed well enough for a time. It has a powerful 1800watt motor and heated up quickly. It was well shaped though perhaps a little slim for a larger hand. The Braun has a good sized ironing plate and ran over most materials very well. Russell Hobbs 12236 2200 ... iron is fantastic. This is my 2nd one and here s why: The first one was dropped when we moved house. So I knew straight away I wanted to buy the same one. I got mine from Amazon.co.uk with super fast delivery which is great when you don t have a working iron! This is so effective at it s job my Mum decided to give away her £150 steam iron for this one. My mum is nearly 70 and has used many irons in her lifetime! I hate ironing, and this makes the job so much easier for me.
