x-cupcake-x Tefal FV3345: ... bought this iron as a replacement to the another brand of iron I bought when I first moved into my own home. I wasn t happy with the iron I had originally and longed for a Tefal iron with it s non-stick plate, my Mum always had Tefal irons whilst I lived at home so after my first experience I decided that I would try a Tefal one. I was lucky enough to pick this one up on special offer for £25 so I was really happ...

... is a great iron and sells for under £20. I recommended it to my neighbour when she needed a new one and she is delighted with it. (well, as delighted as you can be about ironing). The main thing I like about it is that it is not too heavy. When I was looking at irons I could hardly pick some of them up - imagine how it would be after half an hour ironing and filled with water! It slides over the clothes nicely, and I believe this is due to the aluminium soleplate which cheaper irons may not have, so it s worth looking out for. It has a power on indicator light, 1800w power, a 2m power cord and comfortable cushioned handle. Temperature gauge easy to use, 30g/min...

evewidow Philips GC 8261
... Philips GC 8261 has made what is possibly my least favourite task a lot more bearable. When I mentioned to my husband I wanted a steam generator his jaw dropped when he saw that an iron could cost around £200 however I soon got my own way and it has turned out to be £200 well spent. The Techie bits and features - The GC8261 is a 2000w iron with 5 bar pressure steam and produces 120mg steam per second which can be boosted up to 150mg/second . These figures seem a lot higher than other generators in the same price bracket. The water tank can hold 1.4 litres of water and philips claim this lasts 3 hours of ironing. I have not ironed continuously for 3 hours but I w...

... of the best irons I have ever used...and trust me, I have used a lot! This iron has variable steam control, a steam booster as well as the usual water spray. It has a mirror base which glides over many different materials, including silk. The water reservoir is of reasonable size, and even with the steam on average setting, the water lasts a fair time before the need to refill. I have found with many other irons, after a few garments, the water needs topping up regularly. This iron is fairly light in weight, I have used heavier ones. I have found the vertical steaming feature to be totally useless, as in my opinion, to iron something well, the item needs some weigh...
