I've not had the best relationship with irons - I tend to break them... I drop them, leave them on when I shouldn't (I just did that the once), or I dint pay attention to the setting and burn my clothes!
Well I killed my last iron by dropping it on a ceramic floor and breaking the tip of it - rendering it useless as it snagged on every item of clothing I had when I tried to iron so off I went to john lewis and bought this iron for £25.
COST - I thought £25 was reasonable, I didn't to spend tons as irons never last long with me but at the same time I didn't want something super cheap as I didn't think that would last long at all.
LOOK - it's a nice blue colour which gives it a bit of interest - it's not your average boring white iron and the blue bit is see through so you can see how much water is in the iron.
IRONING SKILLS - ideally I wanted an iron that would do everything for me whilst I sat down and watched loose women but as I don't think that's possible yet I'll settle for what this iron can do. It has a steam function for really creased clothes and it's adjustable temperature is very accurate and adjusts quickly meaning no accidentally burnt clothes!
DURABILITY - I've dropped this iron about a dozen times (I blame our funny ironing board, it's not long enough!) and each time it's survived. One of those times I actually dropped it onto carpet and once I'd scraped the carpet off the iron it continued to work fine - I can't say the same for the carpet though, every time I walk bare foot over that patch of carpet I cringe!
To sum up, this is an excellent functioning iron. Very good value at £25!
