This is the worst iron I have ever bought! My old iron bit the dust and my husband found this Breville iron really cheap from an unremembered website a couple of years ago. I was on maternity leave and counting every penny and honestly didn't one iron made a difference from any other. I think it was about £15 reduced. I have struggled on with it until now as I hate to spend money replacing things when they aren't broken.

The iron itself is very heavy to hold at around 1.7 kilos without water. The product features are listed as follows:

*Digital illuminated temperature control iron* - This is right on the handle so you are forever accidentally touching it as you iron, knocking the temperature down. It has 4 settings so every time you knock it you have to press it another 4 times to get the temperature back up. Sometimes you dont realise you've done it until you see it actually isn't getting any creases out.

*2200 watts for high steam performance* - The steam performance is quite poor and always follows with gunk out of the iron or totally wetting the item you're ironing.

*Professional stainless steel soleplate* - The soleplate is still nice and shiny. I rarely ever had a problem with clothes getting stuck to it.

*35g constant steam and 90g shot of steam* - I've never witnessed the constant steam despite there being 2 slide controls on the handle set to the highest.

*Anti-scale, anti-drip and vertical steam* - Every time I've ironed there has been a lot of water escaping, especially when full so not anti-drip at all. See below for why you need it full.

*300ml water tank* - When the water is halfway down the tank, the perfomance drastically gets poorer so you have to fill it very frequently. The water goes in through a pop up button right at the top of the handle. This failed to click back in after the first few months of using and kept popping up whilst doing the ironing.

*Long 3 metre cable.* - Correct.

All in all, I have perservered because although it does an absolutely average job of ironing - you can still see creases now matter how hard you iron - I hate waste. However, enough is enough and I have now bought a steam generator iron and will give the Breville away. I would not recommend this iron based on its overall poor performance.

Brilliant iron, well worth the money. Highly recommended

I am so glad i bought the Breville IR60. Firstly it looks stunning, the blue and the chrome work well together. It has a blue neon light on it which makes it very ey catching. Its all digital so all you do is press a little button on top and it will flick through your settings. You can set it if you want all steam, all water or a bit of both it. Secondly, it heats up very quickly and i cant believe how well it gets creases out of the clothes. With my old iron i had to go over the creases again and again but not with this one. When i had my family over and i was still doing a spot of ironing they all saw how good this iron is. They thought it was s good and went and bought ne - no lie. My mum and 2 sisters are very happy with the iron also, they also agree that its well worth the money.
