==Price and Availability== After owning a Russell Hobbs iron for a couple of months before chucking it away I was after a cheap replacement and settled on the Breville Power Steam VIN002 iron from Amazon, at the time it cost just under £20 and sells at the moment for £16.99 which in my opinion is pretty reasonable. I've seen the iron available at a few other places online at a similar price so it can be picked up quite easily. ==Breville Power Steam VIN002 == The iron is very simple in design; it's mainly white with a few features and the brand name of the iron in purple. It's a pretty standard model with the heat dial underneath the handle, two raised buttons at the front of the handle for steam a power light underneath this and a small port through which the water tank can be filled. There aren't really any special features to the iron so it's really easy to use straight out of the box; it's pretty much self explanatory. The iron is 1800w which in my opinion is pretty high and it has a stainless steel sole plate, the water tank has a 300ml capacity. ==My Experience== As I mentioned before the iron is very easy to use, I didn't bother with the instructions I just plugged it in and started using it. The first thing I noticed was that, at 2m the power cord is quite short, it isn't the be all and end all but it's a little annoying especially as I don't have many plug sockets in my current house. The iron is nice and light weight making it really easy to use, I find it heats up quickly and maintains the heat well. To be honest I don't usually bother with different heat settings for different fabrics that often but whenever I have adjusted the temperature it's always changed quickly. The water tank is really easy to fill and with a 300ml capacity it doesn't need to be refilled that often and I usually find that it only takes one tank to do a whole load of ironing. Unlike my Russell Hobbs iron I was pleased that this one doesn't drip at all. I recently got rid of this iron after just over two years of use because the sole plate was looking a bit worse for wear, I do use it very regularly though and for the price I paid I was pleased with the use I got from it. ==Overall== Although this iron has a short power lead and is simple in design it does everything I could want it to, and for the price I paid I've been pleased with the use I've had from it. It heats up quickly, maintains temperature well and as it's so light weight makes easy work of the ironing. Although I've recently upgraded my iron to a more expensive model that we picked up for a good price at Costco I would definitely recommend the Breville Power Steam to anyone looking for a simple iron for a good price.
