Advantages: light weighted
Disadvantages: does not get hot enough to iron properly
I bought the Durabrand iron when I was a student and really wanted to go for the cheaper option among those which were available. The Durabrand iron is a big NO according to my experience. Yes, it is light and have a steam and sprinkle options, BUT: (!) it just does not become hot enough to do its job. Kind of warm enough to iron the synthetics, not that good with anything cotton that needs to be properly ironed. To be fair, it is exactly the same problematic quality of any supermarket private label irons (Sainsbury or Tesco) and I strongly suspect that they produce it at the same factory anyway, and it is just the name on it which is different as it is quite usually the case with private labels in foods or cosmetics.
So the advice is: spend some money once on a branded iron, because you will probably decide to do it anyway. If you do it from the start, this is your chance to avoid some negative experience and disspointment about small money, but stlill badly spent.
