... difficult to clean and lacking in features. You’d be wrong again. The Hinari Lifestyle has a polished aluminium soleplate, which glides easily on pretty much any fabric and is a doddle to wipe clean. The iron also has an internal self-clean system that removes scale and unblocks the steam holes. This works by storing up steam and then letting it go in a concentrated pressurised burst, forcing any scale out of the iron through the vents. Be warned though, very hot water can spit out of the steam holes during the cleanin...more

Crowned Review Hinari Lifestyle Iron: The ultimate iron-y? (1458 words)

Ironing is the work of the devil. I should be better organised and buy the kind of clothes that don’t need to be ironed, but I’m just not a polyester-and-Teflon kinda gal. So the iron, my personal instrument of torture, is a necessary evil. My last iron – a hideously expensive Phillips Elance with more bells and whistles than a Morris Dancer – gave up the ghost after just two years’ service. Funnily enough, my 15-year-old ironing board died in the same week – it did the splits and refused to get back up. So, I hit the Argos catalogue and picked out a Morphy Richards iron for £27 and a new ironing board for £17. Of course, I didn’t reckon on my ...

I am the owner of a Hinari Lifestyle Steam/Spray Iron. I have had the Iron for about 2 years now and thought I should tell you about it. Its a bargain at under £15. In fact, for that money, you do get a very practical if somewhat awkward Iron. I say that because I has 3 major drawbacks. 1) The Filler. Being a steam Iron, it requires water. This sounds obvious but you would be suprised to see people trying to use irons and wondering why there is no steam despite having no water in it. This filler is very awkward. To fill it, you need to put the water through a hole in the front. You need to put the iron on its end while carefully pouring ...

I bought this iron a few weeks ago from the Woolworths sale for £4.99.It had previously been priced at £9.99 and £13.99 so I was quite chuffed to get such a bargain. The first thing I noticed is that it is good heavy iron. Not everyone likes heavy irons so I thought I'd better get that one in straight away.I've always liked heavy irons so I'm well pleased. Being a steam iron it has the three usual features, variable steam, burst of steam and spray. So fill the iron with the beaker supplied (you can see the maximum level on the water tank) and away you go. The variable steam control allows you to choose how much or how little ...
