We are the reasonably new proud owners of this iron after our previous very much liked iron just decided one day that it was too tired to do anymore work. I'll be honest I didn't exactly put it under much pressure, but my husband is a bit hardcore and he worked it to the bone. Poor thing. So we trotted off to our local iron seller and came back with this bobby dazzler. To be honest, the choice is limited but this seems to be a good one all the same.
I don't particularly like the look of it and I think the colours make it look pretty evil somehow, but the style of it is obviously made so for a reason; it is very comfortable to hold and I have no problem doing large amounts of ironing without getting a sore hand. It is fairly lightweight too; I have very weedy arms and can't cope with a heavy iron so it is perfect in that respect. It is not so light though that you don't feel like it is doing a good job.
The water tank is 300ml and so isn't massive but it is enough I have found. The opening for the tank is actually on the side of the iron where the handle is rather than at the top so it makes filling it up midway through ironing a little bit more difficult as you would have to put the plate down on the ironing board whilst you are doing it or hold it in the air with one hand whilst refilling with the other. Not ideal but doable I have found.
The cord is plenty long enough at two metres and allows for a good amount of maneuverability.
The soleplate is ceramic and I have found that it has been very good. i have had cheap irons in the past where the ceramic soleplate has become tacky almost straight away but this is not the case with this one even after a few weeks it is still fine.
The results with the iron are very good too. It doesn't feel like it gets quite as hot as other irons do but it still does a good job on clothes even thick jeans which I thought it might not be able to stand up to. I find that it is better to get a bit of steam on the job on thicker clothes, which is also easy to do with the two buttons at the to that are withing easy reach.
The iron is available in lots of places for around the £30 mark. I would say that it is worth that but nothing more really. It doesn't look great in my opinion but it does do a good job. Recommended.
