I was having a few issues with my current iron, it wasn't the most expensive when I bought it but being Morphy Richards I thought it'd last longer. It was dripping out a lot of water and wasn't performing as good so it was at that stage when it was due for an upgrade. I had a look around for an iron that looked nice and had good features and having always had a Morphy Richards iron, I kind of wanted to stick with tradition and go for another one again. When I saw this iron I liked the look of it and what it offered in terms of features seemed perfect for me.

APPEARANCE

The iron is lovely in colours, Morphy Richards do a nice design range, this one if white and purple as can be seen in the photo and nicely streamlined. It has a handle as always and the Morphy Richards logo on the side as well as having settings at the top for ironing and a silver plate for ironing. It looks good overall and it says 'Precision Steam' down the side which is the name of the model. It is very modern looking which I like most about it and has a cushioned handle. It is 2200W and is 1.8kg in boxed weight.

This iron comes with a lot of different features but nothing too overly complex. It has an auto shut off feature which is really good as if you leave it on by accident this means it will automatically turn off to save power and also stop accidents happening. It also has an anti-scale system on it and a 1,2,3 auto variable steam setting as well as a no-drip system and ceramic soleplate. There is a cushioned handle and a 320ml water tank which is a good size and it comes with a 3 metre power cord which is a good length as well for this iron.

Now, to talk about my experience of using this iron, I find features like the anti-scale setting really good as it keeps the iron free from limescale and keeps it clean so that you don't have to clean it as much. I mean, generally the iron is easy to clean on the metal plate anyway but this cleans the tank. I usually just get a damp cloth when the iron is cool and run it along the plate just to clean any burnt bits or dirt that has stuck to the base and it comes off really easily and doesn't stick.

With the steam settings, the steam is powerful but at the right force it doesn't come out too much. It doesn't make garments damp and it comes out at the front and goes quite far. The iron is very comfortable and easy to hold with the cushioned handle but I do find the iron can feel quite heavy at times. To set the heating you just need to turn the temperature dial between min and max and also you can set it by the dots on the garments being ironed. The iron works very well and automatically adjusts with the dot settings to know how much steam to let out.

I find that with the ceramic soleplates it glides along very smoothly and easily and it doesn't drag garments along but keeps them in place firmly. To use the iron and its steam just fill up the tank with water by lifting up the lid at the front. I have had no problems really with this iron and find it works really well and being not too big it sits perfectly on my ironing board. It gives great results and my clothes look very good my only slight issue is the weight of the iron but other than that I cannot fault it.

This iron is available to buy on Amazon and they are currently selling it for £74.94 through a private seller. If you are comfortable buying electrical goods from eBay then there are lots of new ones of this for about £15 and upwards which is amazing and a big saving from Amazon.
